Young athlete shot by police officer

This was back in september in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

A 3 gold medalist athlete and two friends got out from karate practice, they went to a burger king.
The burger king got robbed.
The robber jumped a fence.
Cop car #1 responded.
The 3 friends went out to help the officer identify the suspect.
The police officer and the boys jumped the fence.
On the other side cop car #2 pulls over, guns drawn, and tells the boys to drop on the ground as the first officer tries to tell them they are not the suspects.
Cop car #3 arrives, an officer gets out and a shot is fired from one of cop car #3's officers, the other officers open fire against the athlete that was on the floor with his hands on his head.

Quote:
The whole incident started with a hold up of the Burger King restaurant at Altamira Shopping Center, in the corner of Jesús T. Piñero Avenue and the Martínez Nadal expressway.
According to police reports, after the heist, at least one of the robbers jumped a fence near the restaurant to slide down a slope leading to the ramp leading to the Martínez Nadal expressway. Almost immediately a patrol came to the restaurant and Vega Jorge and his friends Ángel Plaza and Carlos Carmoega indicated to the Police where the suspect had jumped. Police officer Osvaldo Correa and Sgt. Vicente Díaz, both from the Puerto Nuevo precinct, took notice, and Correa jumped the fence with Vega Jorge and Plaza following, while Díaz circled the parking lot to reach the on ramp.
From this moment on the accounts of the incident start to blur.
As Correa and the two youths reached the bottom of the slope, a second squad car with officers Esteban Vidal, Abimalet Natal and Juan Rosado arrived on the scene. According to Plaza, the three officers jumped out of the car with their weapons drawn.
The officers immediately ordered both Vega Jorge and Plaza to lie on the ground while Correa tried to tell them they were not the suspects. Vega Jorge and Plaza hit the ground and while one of the officers put a knee on his back, Plaza allegedly saw a third squad car arrive. As the agents were getting out of the car, one of them drew his gun, and a shot rang out.
The officers opened fire on Vega Jorge, while Correa yelled desperately to them not to shoot.
Camoerga, still at the top of the slope, confirmed Plaza’s account of the incident.
In a different version of the incident, the police officers say Vega Jorge and Plaza did not heed their warning to halt. After that, Vega Jorge allegedly made a movement as if he were drawing a gun.
The two opposing versions are under close scrutiny by SIB investigators.
“This family must rest assured that the Public Integrity officers and the General District Attorney’s office will conduct a thorough investigation of this sad incident,” Somoza said, as he expressed his “deepest sympathy to the family" of the slain youth.

I think the cop that gave the killing shot(went through the skull, came out the cheek) had only 9 months experience. Crazy kids.

But yeah, imagine that, you try to help the cops solve a crime and end up shot in the head by the cops.

Some people tried to argue that he was executed with premeditation, but the circumstances(a random robbery) make it hard to believe.
