NO, Cheap is the Myth to Keep Sucking in the Public

In contrast to nuclear power, renewable energy is both clean and safe. Technically accessible renewable energy sources are capable of producing six times more energy than current global demand.

They never calculate the cost of waste disposal or the biggie, leaks and meltdowns. Same old shit. Make money and to hell with the peoples health. Same puppets marching behind them, spewing nonsense about being cheap or even "good ferya". Japan's looking at $250 billion in clean up costs. Cheap? Exxon is paying one cent on every tax dollar spent of the $100 billion to clean up their crude oil mess. Where's the Teabog Ditzo's raving about taxes spent on special interests?

When you think about the fact they outlawed the one plant that can help clean up the nuke and chemical hazardous waste. It seems they are more interested in "treating" the problems that arise with expensive Pharmaceuticals, than curing or preventing problems and therefore taking away the Koch roaches profits. Japanese Food and Tokyo Water Contaminated with Nuclear Fallout

The Japanese are reporting that produce, milk and water are showing signs of nuclear contamination from the fallout leaking from Japan's damaged Fukushima nuclear power plant.

In Tokyo, the city's water supply has been showing traces of radioactive iodine-131, far too low to be a health threat at this time.

However milk and spinach coming from as far away as 75 miles from the nuke plant have shown significant contamination.

Quote:
Iodine levels in the spinach exceeded safety limits by three to seven times, a food safety official said. Tests on the milk done Wednesday detected small amounts of iodine-131 and cesium-137, the latter being a longer-lasting element that can cause more types of cancer. But only iodine was detected Thursday and Friday, a Health Ministry official said.
Apparently the radioactivity is working its way through the food chain rapidly, and has affected land and produce much farther from the site of the nuke plant than anyone expected. At this time its difficult to assess the long term consequences for Japan's agriculture community, but it appears that vast tracts of farmland may no longer be useable.

Chernobyl Radiation Killed Nearly One Million
April 26, 2010 (ENS) - Nearly one million people around the world died from exposure to radiation released by the 1986 nuclear disaster at the Chernobyl reactor, finds a new book from the New York Academy of Sciences published today on the 24th anniversary of the meltdown at the Soviet facility.

No Nukes No Nukes No Nukes No Nukes No Nukes No Nukes

No Nukes - No Fossil Fools... Is that really hard to conceive?

What really gets me toking extra is the blatant Hypocrisy of the Teabog Ditzo's and their hero's like Ass Colter and oxyRush. They cage someone for growing pot and let these corporate killers off scott free. Even pay for their clean ups with tax dollars. Then get idiots to buy their books. This country needs a good recipe for mutton. Pure evil. Eat the Rich!

wind and solar power are our only current solution to future energy problems.

and a few areas of the world that do have geothermal potential.

fossil fuels just aren't working out.

nuclear power hasn't evolved to the point of it's being either safe, in the long term, or efficient.

better batteries would be a nice invention.

hydro power generates a significant amount of carbon dioxide via anaerobic decomposition of organic matter in plains flooded by the dams.

dams that produce power unfortunately usually decimate whatever indigenous water life there may be @ that location (example: spawning sites/routes for fish). solar farms that can generate power ample for cities are the size of small cities themselves. i mean, we only got so much unsettled land. same w/ wind farms. the oceans are a relatively untapped wind source for giant turbine farms.

i dont really think there is such a thing as completely clean power. even hemp would require land to grow, and equipment to process.

damns arent the only way to get power from water

on the other hand, is it really necessary to put megawatts of lighting outside every building?

if we didnt do this, maybe be a little more conservative with our electricity use... ah what am i saying?

What about mini hydro plants? There was alot of talk about it back in the 70's. Basically, people living on streams would create enough power to run their own homes with some left over. The initial cost was too high back then, but technology has advanced. No dams needed.
