heres a cypher
marriage = blue gay unions = green http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0611/57738.html it really is like 1984 with this social shit. if 32 people vote to make chicken a vegetarian dish... then we have to accept that it is vegetarian dish. we were never at war with eastasia...untill we are, and then we were never not at war with eastasia... its like the absolute opposite of freedom of consciousness. you cant believe what you want to believe... if the government votes to make 1+1=3 then we just have to either accept whats false as true.... or compartmentalize between "truth" that you observe and determine on your own and "truth" as what a majority of a paliamentary body decides. how can a parliament or a congress vote to change reality? by order of the NYS senate gravity is officially no longer a force.... so ... .U BETTER START FLOATING OR ELSE!

lol, i wonder what j would've said during the civil rights movement.
because, back then, it was black people and their rights who "we" were told to change from "blue to green" (what a stupid analogy). something tells me j would be on the giving end of the chains and fire hoses in birminghan (or at least, in agreement with them). ![]() ![]()

Based on how little New York Republicans did to stop this, and how many Republicans nationwide are actually saying this is a good thing, are we seeing gay marriage go mainstream? Pretty cool.
J what are your thoughts on all the Repubs jumping ship on the issue?

i dunno man, as i said im torn about this issue.
if ny has to be the laboratory to see how it works, then i guess at least thats better than if obama had changed the law on a federal level. but thats a pretty small consolation

another funny thing i read this article tonight that said "gays now have the right to divorce!" and was like celebrating that saying that divorce is just as important as the right to marry. it sorta made me think about how in some sense once these groups get what they want, they end up realizing that getting waht they wanted might not have mattered that much as it is...
like, now gays can have just as screwed up marraige lives and gay couples who have stupid and shallow relationships (like the hetero ones that do) can be screwed and have to be "spouse" support ugh it just sounds so disgusting... but yea pay spouse support and alimony and shit.so now all the hetero dudes can be like "haha welcome to the club gay guys" now your fucked by the system just like us.

Gays didn't need to be allowed to be married for them to "have stupid and shallow relationships (like the hetero ones that do)". That goes with the territory of being a person who matures and starts making good decisions for themselves and their well-being.
The point the article was really trying to make, wunderkind, is that a state is now recognizing equality between sexual orientations. Not that one demographic is going to get ambushed by "the system" that you one minute seem to defend while in the next breath condemning. If you don't like it, then don't come to my state and don't deal with it. Your absence makes New York a better place, too.

but that's not the world we live in. our societies basic marriage is both religion and government entwined, and under this setup, imo, all ppl should be able to marry whoever (whomever?) they want to. that is also not counting the enormous open-minded positive actions that this act could possibly spread to other parts of the world, places where homosexuals are brutally murdered for their sexual orientation. or maybe it wont do anything to the worlds consciousness. either way, it is not a bad thing. only religious fanatics and ppl filled with hate would think it is. imho of course.

There have been gay people since there have been people. They have just, in the past, been forced to stay hidden.
No one has been harmed because of them being gay, well, except for themselves. They get none of the legal protection that other couples get. As far as the constitution goes, this isn't the first time a group has had to fight for the attempt to be treated equally under the law. Unless, of course, you think that only white men should have all the rights and the rest of us are here only to provide cheap labor.

just as a point of clarification, the U.S, Constitution does not state "all men are created equal", and that principle is torn to shreds in the said document itself(slaves)
it was the declaration of independence |

I wonder if gay marriage would be legal if only women were gay...
I've always believed that the prejudice is directed largely at male homosexuals. For example, in mainstream TV you see a lot more shows about homosexuality, but aside from Glee, the gay characters are usually women. This leads me to think that the issue is more about straight men, and how it affects their sexual self-image possibly being objects of desire (which would put them in the role of "the female"), than it is about anything else (like God). ![]() The Rev |
