School District Giving Home Drug Tests To Middle School Parents

Hempfield Area School District is working with a nonprofit group to give home drug testing kits to parents of sixth- and seventh-grade students.

Any interested parent can have a packet that contains the test kit and a one-year enrollment in a random notification service that will pick the test time without the child or the parent being able to anticipate it.

"Entering middle school is pivotal time of change, and we want to build awareness for both students and parents," Superintendent Andy Leopold said in a statement.

The nonprofit Candle, Inc., said sixth-grade parents can get enrollment forms at this week's school orientations, and watch a presentation about new trends in teen substance abuse. Parents of seventh-graders can opt in at the open house in September.

In a press release, Candle, Inc., executive director Norma Norris said, “While being this proactive may seem ‘ahead of the times,' we want to let parents know that this measure is actually needed now. ... The average age for experimenting with prescription drugs is now age 13, and every day 2,500 teens will abuse these drugs for the first time."

Hempfield? How ironic.

prescription drugs are OK, but experimental hallucinogens are where its at. we shouldn't let parent's know that.

I heard on the news last week I think that some legislators were looking to pass laws that required parents to drug test their children in order to enroll them in school, but they wouldn't have to tell anyone the results.

i don't know what to expect when the state comes between parents and their kids.

Sturmabteilung...
English: Storm Detachment; (or English: Stormtroopers) functioned as a paramilitary organization of the German Nazi Party. It played a key role in Adolf Hitler's rise to power in the 1920s and 1930s. SA men were often called "brownshirts" for the colour of their uniforms (similar to Benito Mussolini's blackshirts).

The SA was the first Nazi paramilitary group to develop pseudo-military titles for bestowal upon its members. The SA ranks were adopted by several other Nazi Party groups, chief amongst them the SS, itself originally a branch of the SA. Brown-coloured shirts were chosen as the SA uniform because a large batch of them were cheaply available after World War I, having originally been ordered during the war for colonial troops posted to Germany's former African colonies.[1]

The SA became largely irrelevant after Adolf Hitler ordered the "Blood Purge" of 1934. This event became known as the Night of the Long Knives. The SA was effectively superseded by the SS, though never formally dissolved.

The ones that are structurally similar to amphetamine can fail you on basic tests. If they take it for GCMS, they will find out what it really is, but that might not matter.

I tested myself a few times on those cheap home tests, nothing showed. Though it may be because of the simulated cathinones I was using. MDPV didn't show up as anything either, and I'm pretty sure some of the synthetic cannabinoids don't show either (though I refuse to experiment with those). Idk how bk MDMA would show up, but it wouldn't surprise me if it rang as Molly or some other amp.

And if any parent is willing to go to the lengths of getting their kid's hair or urine GC-MS tested, well thats a whole different ball game.

eh i dont know what to say about this.

It sounds like nothing is being forced, but is optional for the parents if they so wish.

the kids they are talking about are 12 and 13 years old. Around here that is when many many manyyyy kids are starting to use roxys and other opiate pills these days. Shit is everywhere around here.
It is turning into a huge problem

Not like this is gonna help at all though, most likely just make it worse. Something really does need to be done for that age group though as they are falling down a whole which is sooo hard to get out of.

The whole age group feels hopeless and has no goals in life. Even college is a crapshoot these days it is sad.

Something needs to be done for the new teens and future teens. Otherwise non-motivation and drug use shall continue.

imo...

A home drug test in the house of s sixth or seventh grade student should consist of a count of pills in mommy's medicine cabinet.

what if she is an over medicated alcoholic soccer mom who just takes a handful of pills that looks about the same size as it did the other times with her morning alcoholic beverage of choice?
