If I was to categorize JFK I would put him in the "Cooler than Merc could ever be" category

your alright Merc... sometimes

Seriously, tho, there's a Politics and Current Affairs (which aren't always the same thing) thread. It's important, for whatever reason, to a lot of people. Probably to most of us as a sort of hobby, for lack of a better term. It's JFK's thing, just like whatever interest you may have that other people think is unimportant or silly. It is what it is and for you to just wake up one morning and decide to attack him on it really makes you look, with all due respect, like an obsessed fanboy yourself.

He likes posting on the Politics thread. Big deal. What sweat off your balls is it?

I think a lot of folks mistake obessession, fanatacism, fanboyism, whateverism for disagreement.

You have a funny way of agreeing with me, but yeah JFK is inexplicably obsessed with politics and does not have enough self-awareness to give any insight as to why. All we know about him is that he reads at least 50 news articles per week and watches Fox News all day and still expresses himself with all effectiveness of a 7th grader. How is that possible?

I'm sorry but whenever I read his post I can't help imagining him wearing one of these.

As someone who is both interested in politics (to a degree) and someone who has been called a fanatic more than once in real life, I would say I don't think JFK or myself are fanatical, just two people with common interests at opposite sides of the spectrum.

I'm sorry but whenever I read his post I can't help imagining him wearing one of these.

Why exactly does he have to explain himself to you? Or anyone? Because you have some hardon going against him? Tell us, do you have enough self awareness to explain why this is such a big deal to you?

I'm certainly not saying I agree with you, at least as far as obsession goes. Interest does not equal obsession. Like I said, we all have goofy interests that might make roll their eyes.

We "know" he reads 50 articles a week and watches Fox News all day? How do we know that? Got a camera in his house? Or is this just some intuition you have?

50 articles a week is obsessive? Really? That's like 7 a day. I read my local paper daily. This morning, for giggles, I counted how many articles I read. I count the classifieds and the comics and the op- ed as 1 each. Past that, I read 12 articles start to finish. Not including the crime blotter. Not including the 3 or 4 news sites I skim. 50 a week isn't very many. Actually, it makes me wonder how informed you keep yourself. Which then makes me question how much validity to give your opinions. If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention, they say.

How does he express himself like a 7th grader? Because he hasn't convinced you? Why do you need to be convinced? You're ill informed, obviously, with no interest in being better informed. So he doesn't get through to you. You imagine him wearing a propeller beanie when he posts. That has more to do with you than it does him. Actually, all of this does.

Within 2 replies you're calling him an idiot. There's some mature expression. Whining that no one is jumping on your bandwagon about him is pretty effective too. How is that possible?

JFK and I seem to agree on some points, but I'm not carrying his water. If you unilaterally jumped anyone else, of any persuasion, like you have I'd be saying the same thing.

If your sensibilities can't handle things you disagree with, there are easy ways to get around that. At the end of the day, you're always welcome to not read his stuff.

Yeah. You're all about being reasonable. Being a veteran here doesn't mean you can't be wrong and it certainly doesn't mean you're incapable of talking out your ass.

Keep up the good work on that obsession of yours. Your sputtering is entertaining as hell.
