OK idiots, let me explain it to you. The US makes money out of Israel.
Firstly we get $3 billion credit every year to be spent buying US manufactured arms, which is effectively a subsidy to US arms manufacturers more than a gift to Israel.
Secondly after we buy your equipment we then improve it considerbly and then teach you how to improve it by your selves.
Thirdly, we have served as the only real weapons testing ground in the world (before iraq and afganistan at least) for the US to test and perfect all of the weapons used by the US army and airforce today.

BTW Egypt also recieves $ 2 billion a year from the US under the same agreement as Israel. The US gains far less in return from them than from Israel.

stop bashing Israel. we are far from perfect and need to go a long way but compared to the rest of the world, Israel is a pretty cool place ( unless you happen to be palastininian).

It might result in a relatively insignificant number of jobs but it's still money that comes out of the pockets of the American taxpayers. And the military hardware in question is just given to Israel whereas defense manufacturers normally sell their goods not give them away.
