What's the deal with Ron Paul
(forgie me I am missing a certain key on my board, can't spell olleyball for example, tired of cutting and pasting. Please bear with me...)
I'e neer been impressed with the Repubs. At times, like now, I'm blown away at their lameness. But the exception is Ron Paul. Libertarianism worries me somewhat, but with checks and balances in congress I think I would support the guy. He's the most straight up, principled politicitian I'e seen in my lifetime. Can anyone gie me some mateirial to read that might balance my high esteem of the guy? Also, Q number 2--why is the media keeping him in the blind spot??? |

You may want to look into why almost all of his campaign contributions are under 1000$.
That'll answer a lot of your questions. |

Ron Paul is moot.
His libertarian views garner support from neither republican'ts nor democrats. So he's also a non issue in the 2012 elections. If by some miracle he did get elected, he would accomplish nothing. Pretty much what we already have with Obama. Great ideas, and no way in hell of getting anything positive done.

And comparing Obama to Paul is honestly laughable. I thought you were better than that. |

The problem with Paul is his mind lives in the 18th or 19th century, and he is not very realistic/current in his proposals. Seems he's in more at battle with old republican ideaologies than current problems...or solutions.

Your dedication to your party is both admirable and scary.

obomba backed off from his great ideas. You'd have to wait until Paul was elected to see if he would do the same. Whether he'd get anything done isn't really the point, it's if he'd have the spine to stick to his actual beliefs. To assume he'd be a spineless piece of shit like obomba is pure conjecture. |

Religon is a whacky idea by itself. The science thing isn't that wacky since we're talking about a theory. His wanting to abolish welfare is probably based on there being no need for it if we had true capitalism. Whether he's right on those issues doesn't matter, he'd solve all our problems if they'd listen to his wacky ideas regarding foreign policy.

meaning when it comes to issues he's all talk.
He lacks even his own parties support on many topics, JUST LIKE OBAMA. He has learned to talk the talk, but that's light years from walking the walk.

I believe you can look at his voting record and interviews over the past 30 years. Dude hasn't changed his position on pretty much anything.

Just curious if anyone has input on this issue???
