One doesn't need to be an Atheist to see that things are getting a fuckload worse, with not many signs of them getting better.

The analogies might be different, but the realities remain the same.

I hate to bring politics into it, but who's policies do you think brought America to this point.

(other than a fall from religion, as I won't discuss religion)

"The descent is going to be horrifying" type fear mongering is so 2009.

The British Empire was every bit as ruthless as ours, and Britain didn't turn into Somalia. I think I'll just take life a day at a time. I'm tired of being afraid.

yeah not gonna watch that sensationalist bullshit

the world is going to shit, what else is new

its actually getting better all over what we're seeing in america is trauma as systems have to be destroyed and rebuilt. capatalism isnt going to work anymore and a new system of economy and government has to be created that isnt based on war and taking advantage of lesser developed nations and their resources.

which is actually a good thing because that shit was shaaady in the first place. i'll take a lower standard of living temporarily if it means progress for the world as a whole in the long run. because you know ultimately things are getting better and are going to be okay. thats why we created all this cool technology. things get worse before they get better though and thats what we're seeing now.

its like before a roof collapses there has to be significant pressure pushing down on the roof right? and it might look like a really bad situation cuz the roof is coming down but people dont have the foresight to see that a better stronger more advanced roof that works more in synergy with the earth is goign to be built. and unless we completely decimate ourselves with nukes i dont see the roof-coming-down-and-being-rebuilt-better thing stopping anytime soon. thats how humans have been developing their consensus systems of government, society and economy since we started them in the first place. everything has been a slow crawl from people beating each other up as government to where we are today to where we are going in the future. we just recently did this in the 1700s with the whole america thing happening. things move in cycles.

how close are we to cloning food and teleportation again?

I agree, but with the world economy almost collapsing and things still getting worse, what is it going to take to make this change happen? Not only that, how smooth do you think this transition can realistically be?

roach do you want to play the blame game or start prepping for the shit storm? bringing politics into it is an idiom that to me means making the subject fucked/ fake... deflecting/ derailing from the point

you should know I'm a survivalist.

When the whole thing comes tumbling down...

hell I've been preparing for that all my life.

how many members here live on $100 a month for food...and have change left over...?

Things will get bad, probably very bad. People will die, people will be born. We'll do things that we think will irreversibly mar the earth, only to find rebirth in the most hopeless corners. People will be dumb dicks, and people will revolutionize. We'll plateau in our ignorant glory until another falling out. The human spirit has a remarkable ability to adapt. "crash course in life, the best you can do is get by, no getting out alive."
