if you want to debate obama - go to that thread. and this sounds self-righteous, but no one, in either the RP or Obama thread, were able to factually negate the majority of facts i provided.

I show how the stimulus was chock full of stuff they claimed to support until Jan. 20, 2009—not just things like health IT and the smart grid and energy efficiency and scientific research, but the very idea of Keynesian stimulus. Every presidential candidate in 2008 proposed a stimulus package, and Mitt Romney’s was the largest.

Like the fact he has ordered drone attacks that have killed scores of children?

you obviously don't understand how the electoral system in canada works. the government decides when to call the elections and thus calls it (or is defeated by introducing a bill it knows won't pass) at a time most convenient for itself.

if you want to get technical it is the governor generals' job to call the election at the request of the speaker of the house when the government loses the confidence of the house.. but that is a formality

Vote straight democrat.

Drones save money, reduce collateral damage (that's dead babies Terry.) and save American troops from risking their lives.

They are the new face of war, like them or not.

Add cruise missile capabilities and you have the new war era.

This in no way justifies war for any reason. It's just a more efficient way of doing the art of war.

and that negated what? what does it prove? you don't like that he used drones and civilians were a by-product casualty. I get it. That doesn't change my opinion, as that is not the most important issue to me. When clinging to one issue you don't like, you are kidding yourself in thinking you are being logical.

I've always thought that too, but it seems that the recent record doesn't bear that out. Someone posted a graph lately showing the debt rose more under reps in the last 30 years than dems. Personally, I think this idea harkens back to FDR and Lyndon Johnson, who signed social security and medicare into law, respectively. But those were more progressive times. Democrats, still holding onto the idea of providing basic needs for people are therefore still thought of as wanting to spend more, but the fact is, republicans spend on a lot more expensive things, like wars.

Assasinating American citizens without due process.
Libya.
Provisions in the NDAA.
The patriot act extension, including nasty shit due to sunset.
Expanding drone use.
Troops in Uganda.
Continuance of the Afghanistan failure.
Continuance of hypocritical foreign policy.
Continuance of using state secrets as excuse for any executive power trip.
Continued belligerence towards Iran.

You're wrong.

The Democrats "by nature" attempt to attain a more effective/efficient government. Some times it means growth, other times in translates to reduced government.

If you hadn't said "vote straight democrat" it would have been impossible to know what party you were affiliated with. You used the same arguments for obomba's warmongering as the republicans used for bush's warmongering.
