Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant fallout was projected to reach as far East as the American Mid-West. Recent GOP primary voting would suggest that its impact has been much worse than anything previously imagined. Apparently, it has softened enough skulls and destroyed enough braincells that a majority of Republicans in the heart of Red State country, now see Rick Sanitarium as a viable candidate for POTUS. Since the radioactivity is worse as we move west over the Rockies, Sierra's and Cascade's, the outlook for brain damage in those States looks potentially even worse.

He has made some effort to distinguish being a true "believer" in either as being irrelevant to the job. I too have a difficult time not busting out the guffaws when someone tries to convince me that dinosaurs and man wandered the streets together. I would however offer three things in his defense on this issue.

First, and weakest I suppose, at least he's not one of the REALLY kooky evangelicals -that seriously believe that the earth is only 3,000 years old, that fossils are part of a scientific community-wide conspiracy to discredit Jesus, and that The Flintstones were a documentary.

Second, as long as he isn't a member of one of the "we're special and you're not" cults that can't wait for the mother ship to return, I can put up with them for a little while. The ones that are in a hurry to get to judgement day and shit like that tend to worry me somewhat.

Third, and most importantly in this case, he is the only person running who walks the walk and fully recognizes that his job is not to impose his morality on us and the world. He actually champions the idea that a representative in our system has an obligation to do the people's work, and not their own. He doesn't favor or support any kind of drug use, but he is the only candidate to point out that it isn't the Feral government's job to be policing us anyway? He does not agree with abortion and has never performed one, but he also recognizes that it isn't any concern of the Feral government one way or the other. He wants less government in our lives, more freedoms for all, and to restore some sanity and solvency to the core of our currency and foreign policy.

I doubt that his personal religious beliefs one way or the other have ever had any impact on his willingness or ability to provide care for his patients, so from a scientific perspective, what difference does it make? If he was still advocating leeching and blood letting (and yes I realize leeches are still used for special circulatory treatments) I could understand your dismissiveness, but given the current state of affairs, and the current crop of choices, who could you possibly see as being a more superior choice, and why?

He's just parading around talking about his "broad appeal" and acting as if god himself came down and handed him the presidency on a silver platter. The only reason he won is because no one else gives a shit about those states and put no effort into winning there. He's just parading around talking about his "broad appeal" and acting as if god himself came down and handed him the presidency on a silver platter. The only reason he won is because no one else gives a shit about those states and put no effort into winning there. Santorum appeals to no one except the most morally backwards and twisted evangelicals and even then a lot of those types are going to go Romney because Rick is such a fucking goon. I mean really how excited can you be because the evangelicals chose you because you are in fact the only evangelical candidate?
