Funny how britain is so pro palestinian all the time but when it comes to those fucking argies...
Falklands: more international support for Argentina after 'militarization' claim? (+video) - CSMonitor.com
they "negotiate" by the barrel of a 21st century cutting edge warship. I think this is hilarious, because anytime u can show someone as a total 100% hypocrite, especially in the international arena...its funny and impossible to pass up on the chance. so id like to know how the labor and left wing folks in engalnd manage to reconcile their disdain for israeli "apartheid" while sending next gen battleships to fight against argentina- a piss poor south american country whos military is about on par with castros.... just strengthening your negotiating position eh limeys?

ps to spell out the hypocrisy...
1. britain tries to sideswipe the issue that the falklands are basically a british colony 2. they do this by saying "we believe the falklanders should have the right to vote for what they want" 3. but clearly the argentinians would move there if immigration were free and open, even if just to out-vote the british holdouts- many of whom are probably 50+ years old. 4. so britain hides behind the "democratic" bs, which is ridiculous on its face 5. but then when israel is faced with similar problems, they stand back, laugh, and cast all sorts of dispersions that would and should land sqaurely back at their feet.

"No land should end up being a trophy of war."
That's the whole fucking point. That is probably one of the most absurd things any world leader has ever said. |

That treeless rock called The Falklands is a British territory and always has been. There were no people there when they settled it.
It's crazy to just give it to Argentina. Why should they? And as to sending a warship there. Why not? It's not like they don't own the place and it's not like Argentina hasn't already tried to take it by force. And this is nothing like Israel.

Fuckin' Argentines! Next thing ya know we're gonna have Arawakan Indians from South America trying to claim that their ancestors lived in Puerto Rico before the U.S. ass fucked Spain, and so it should be theirs...
Okay, well actually they did, but if Argentina wants to be an Imperialist power, tell them to build a fucking REAL military and go start some wars of their own. Of course first ya have to develop a currency that somebody will accept, even if it is just worthless scrip. Ain't hegemony grand! The fact that either of them would fight over this piece of shit rock is ridiculous enough.

Must stick in the limeys craw that theirs was once the greatest empire known to man and now they try to vicariously recapture that feeling by holding onto a worthless pile of windy rocks that any moron who can read a map would say should belong to Argentina.

The people that live on that worthless pile of windy rocks would argue otherwise.

there is no comparison. btw the only reason anybody wants the falklands is that it sits on a huge deposit of oil. A few hundred people, several thousand sheep and a huge deposit of oil on an Island in the middle of the south atlantic.
of course argentina want it. |

If there really is a bunch of oil there, they ought'a tell everybody to fuck off and declare their independence. How would England manage to defend that imperialist bullshit in this day and age? Never mind... just answered my own question. In this day and age there is no real dissent, just tow the line, support the empire and waste time arguing over whether condoms are a Constitutional right, or some other mindless bullshit distraction. You could probably say that the whole send the Prince to the Falklands is in support of that charade. As the EU crumbles into insolvency, thank god for the Falklands, cricket and whatever other bullshit they can throw up on the telly to keep the sheeple lookin' the other way.

So just to clear something up with all the Britain apologists here: you realize if we followed your rational Hong Kong would still be under British control, correct?
How is that in any way fair? How can any of you pretend you are doing something besides defending 21st century imperialism? I know I know stiff upper lip, sun never sets, but come on for Christ's sake this should be a non-issue and would have been if that cunt Thatcher hadn't decided to contest the issue with overwhelming force.

I don't watch much football, but I think that sounds like a fair trade.
