Rich people and taxes... thoughts?

IMO what people forget is that taxes were paid to lay the infrastructure and services that allowed the rich and super rich to gain all of that wealth. It is A LOT harder in these days to start off a life, build a solid base and possibly take chances to become more than just solid. Now its tough just to survive.

Jester4yall 04-15-2012 04:55 PM

Sounds like a plan but it won't happen

Being 04-15-2012 04:57 PM

I know it won't, big money controls politics too much. I wouldn't have a problem having all political campaigns funded publicly and not allow any donations. Or at least not allow any corporate donations at all. Looking for some other opinions and ideas and such, helps me decide my opinions.

If you have concerns about the unlimited amount of money that can be poured in to candidates by corporations, you will want to read this article to bring you up to date on whats about to go down.

Citizens United Faces Constitutional Challenge in Supreme Court -- WASHINGTON, April 13, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --

wellfleation 04-15-2012 05:10 PM

The Supreme Court is supremely partisan. That is it's downfall.

HTAM 04-15-2012 05:11 PM

Which is why Obama needs to have a second term, or else we get stuck with more Repub judges if Raw Money gets the win.

wellfleation 04-15-2012 05:19 PM

I bet if you add up all the tax loopholes, givebacks, and exceptions, and big Co. probably takes far more government welfare, aid, whatever you want to call it than all welfare recipients combined. If not, it's gotta be close.

The game is rigged. It just becoming more obvious now that communication is so widely available via the internet. So what do the well-healed do? They start the usual smear campaign of blaming those with no voice and no power, the poor. Fuck these whiney never really worked a day in their lives (that is MOST of them) ass-holes. I wouldn't piss on one if they were on fire and I'm 100% sure the feeling is mutual. I am fine with that cause the rich are generally smug douche-bags who believe because 1% of their their net worth is is a couple million dollars, and therefore, when they donate a couple of million dollars they are treated like angels, when in fact they are simply wiping their asses with dollar bills to keep the masses just fat, just happy, and just stupid enough to ignore them while they use and abuse our country, our resources, our environment, while continuing to exploit any human that can make them more money.

Being 04-15-2012 05:21 PM

I like that idea. It's always anti-help for the poor, cut government assistance etc etc. Yet the people usually calling for that are receiving more aide than the poor.

wellfleation 04-15-2012 05:28 PM

I do realize their are some heavy generalizations there. But I stand by them based on my experiences.

Sage Tree 04-15-2012 06:01 PM

Getting rid of loopholes would be a good start.
There is no reason that a CEO should have a lesser tax rate than his secretary.

SOCIALIST!

Spreading my money around like that. My parents whom this money came from would be bull-shit! We earned this money in America and deserve to keep every last penny we can. It's the "patriotic" thing to do! It's not my fault you didn't inherit a boatload of money like me!

I got mine, fuck you, You suck, I win. It's the new American way.

Grieves 04-15-2012 06:08 PM

If you want people to act in a moral fashion you must give them incentives...

Now the system gives incentives to the immoral and cheats, it must be reconfigured to reward "moral" behavior...

I do not have any answers but it is clear as day that the people who have the biggest burden of responsibly are taking the path of least resistance rather than doing the "right" thing...

Mr. Grieves for Prez!

This is a brilliant post man....

1000% agree, thanks for concisely hitting this nail on the head.

Wow, you said "hit the nail on the head" at the exact same time I post the above (9:13).

I'm getting out a here!

Sage Tree 04-15-2012 06:21 PM

bang on dude!

great or not... we're thinkin' alike!

But how CAN you disagree with Grieves' post?

I've said for a long time Socialism needs more heart and Capitalism need morals but it was great the way G put it.

Roach 04-15-2012 08:43 PM

How do you think the rich got that way...?

Taxing them will only make them poorer..:(

You cannot expect an aristocrat to live on a middle class income, what are you crazy ?

Not all wealthy folks are total crooks...

trickle down doesn't work

vacuum up does.

aka, money rich people save doesn't go anywhere but a bank account.
money poor people save goes into paying off bills owed to the rich people.

:)

someone paid attention in class.

Now, tell me who makes the laws that govern the rich in a "rich way" and the poor in a poor way ?

That would be the poor correct ?....majority rules ?
