I felt the need to chime on this question. Here in Texas, we do have a specific dry time every year around mid September to Halloween. It gets hard to find regular bud and the good stuff is overpriced due to the demand. This has happened the last 5 years I've been in this area. It sucks. We've done some detective work and figured out people weren't growing due to the extreme drought Texas has experienced recently. This means we're getting our bud from Mexico and with a new border checkpoint it's gotten rough.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Mexican growers were finding other places to sell their bud rather than risking it going to the US and only a handful are selling to us.

But that's just a theory....

just another good reason to grow your own,if you look at the hours people spend waiting on that "phone call" and figuire in the amount of time you spend on your gardening i always came up with the figuires that it is a lot easier to just grow your own,of course not everybody can grow at the moment

It often gets dry because of buying patterns. Gaps between christian holidays in particular. People like to celebrate with the good herb . When there is no big "constant" demand, mid range dealers sell in other areas or just don't buy so much to distribute. So in a real way the "market" if you will, establishes the availability.(demand driven supply). If medical users are/were a large part of that mid level dealers customers then the same is true. His customers now have more "dealers" to buy from. So it can also be for several other reasons not included above.

but it sounds to me like most of your "dealers" are getting their shit from the same source.

sources deliver by the truckload.
midrange delivers by the pound(s)
you and I deal in ounces....or fractions...usually
