This is possible anywhere with snow. The UVs that reflect off the snow is brutal. Especially when hiking up a bowl!

Damn y'all got it cold. Even a bit chilly in Cali. Visited my family over the weekend no water in the mornings due to frozen pipes.

Be safe on the icy roads

Been helping out around town after the tornadoes. Lots of people with little to no roofs and zero wind barriers. We took up collections at work for those without insurance, a lot more than expected. A couple guys from work and myself have been taking half personal days and put roofs on and replace several windows for those in desperate need. One family made us lunch, cheese sandwiches. Best meal ever knowing they didn't have much extra in their budget. I'm out

i too find myself in a constant existential struggle between my hatred for coldness and the beauty that extreme coldness brings, fender. quite the double edged sword. i wish i could like invent a bubble that you could walk around in that was always warm. its 2014, we need to evolve beyond coats and scarfs god dammit. we must master the elements lest they MASTER US

Im also waiting for a better version of sun protection than sunscreen.

As a ginger, advances in such technology would drastically change the world for me.

UV rays. Another double edged sword.

i would steal the idea but i dont feel like pandering to the rich people who would be able to afford it. let them invent their own damn self warming coats and then ill get one when it hits mass market. im a very lazy person , lol.

It isnt too big of a deal at this lattitude tbh... but like any lower it can become a nuisance.

It basically puts a decent chunk of the planet off limits for me to stay long-term at, unless i want to just accept the inevitable skin cancer.

which ties back into my other post about hating the cold... so im stuck in a limited range of desirable areas to live in.
