Immigration Canada

Starting getting ready now by knowing what class of permit you'll need,
And start saving money right away.

It's not cheap to move, it's not cheap to stay due to cost of living and the permits themselves which are key.

As a student, my Wife and I had to save up $13 000.

There are many ways to get in, and if you have a NAFTA job it's easier to get it, but not necessarily stay.

Look into it, Canada is a great place to live and Vancouver is special among the cities there imo.

Good luck,

My Wife and I have been there for 6 years, ran into some issues, which is why we traveled in the US from November until now, but are heading back up in the early summer to get the Permanent Resident stuff started and hopefully in a couple years we'll be citizens.

We have family in the Eastern States, who we enjoy being closer to, but before long I'm hoping to get back to British Columbia.

In the mean while Friend, get a passport and visit the place... it's AMAZING!

It's cause I converted.

<---- Born again Canadian...... zealous as any other kind of born again.

What can you say.... sometimes you're born in the wrong time, wrong family, wrong religion....

Sometimes.... the wrong country

'Welcome to Canada' sounds MUCH more natural to me
Than 'Welcome Home' when entering the USA.

That's when I knew the change happened and where I belonged.

reply is a bit late.

And Canada is definately as difficult as Australia to move to permanently, if not more so.
Pick a warmer pot friendly country/nation.

I've been there several times but won't ever live there. Inland BC is where I'm moving to this summer baby.

Btw, buy a life jacket.

Good call on the thread date

Not so sure about your assessment of immigration as a person who has/is.

Bang on, on the warmer....
Not so sure that Canada is as pot friendly as Australia,
But gotta' say.... Canada is pretty damned lax dude, you might be surprised how much autonomy the provinces have over enforcement vs federal policy.

And on both counts of immigration and pot friendliness....

Canada is no USA.

Do you know where you're heading in BC, Exy?

BC over all is pretty wet. Winter is sunnier up north though, that's a bonus.
I'll take -15 and sun over 0 and cloudy any day.

Nice nice... you might have told me that before.
That's in interesting part of BC from the sounds of it.
Bring your pocket book, is what it sounds like to me

But there is loads of free outdoors I'm sure

The bump is because BB is from Van, my Guess.
Nothing wrong with talking more about Canada,
Kids could stand to learn a thing or two about it, imo.

(missed the tidal waves comment )

It's in the kootinay (sp?) mountain range on the okanagan lake. Kelowna definitely isn't my favourite part of the area by a long shot, but the school I want to go to is there so what can you do?

(go kayaking when not studying, fuck yeah?)

Both countries have age limitations and only certain job positions that are acceptable for employment... provided you have the funds to buy into their health care systems.

unless their "tests" have laxed in the last few years.
