Hey, y'all, I'm going to out to Vancouver, B.C. sometime soon and I've heard that they have a very cool pot culture. How does it work? I mean, is it legal to buy there? If it is legal, where are some good places to go? And, if not, how can I score? Thanks in advance...

Well I'm from Vancouver island, It's not legal to smoke or buy weed anywhere, here or there.
Couldn't tell you much about the pot culture, I assume it depends on what part of town you go to. Sorry if this helps little or not at all. |

The 5-0's are pretty laid back here. Most of the time they'll just confinscate your green and thats that. Some places you wanna check out: Blunt Bros. and New Amsterdam Cafe , both just a few shops away from each other on Hasting St. (crossroad: Cambie st.) If your looking for a good selection of bongs, check out Puff (upstairs of the eye glass shop at the corner of Robson and Granville). As for the green, you get random ppl downtown casually asking you if want any. I cant give you any prices since I havent bought or smoked any in ages (due to health reasons). So there you go! Happy toking!

There is an underground Medical Pot culture there, but be sure to bring your doctors recomendation with you if you have one or you will have a hard time getting into thet culture. I've personally never been there, but some of my associates have business there, and have access to that culture. You should try a visit to the Bay Area where we have a large cannibis culture and easey access to the doctors who recomend. Spend a week here and you will feel like you just visited Amsterdam.....

go stand in front of the courthouse....there are pot dealers there bidding for your money (i seriously saw this when i was in vancouver) ...btw, vancouver is probably my favorite city in the world (that i've been to) so i'm guessing you'll enjoy it.

I'd suggest just going for a stroll up and down Granville street between Nelson and Pender Ave.'s if you're looking to score some weed. I haven't bought off the street in ages, but it seems like every time I walk along there someone's offering. Just double check to make sure no cops are close by if/when you find a hookup (not that cops sell dimebags undercover, but there's usually some cops parked somewhere along Granville in that area in the evening).
As far as acceptance of use goes, so long as you keep it low key, the cops usually dont make a big deal of it. I've been at lots of parties where you can smell the good herb in the air, but the cops commissioned to keep things under control don't do anything about it. Hell, a buddy and I even walked by a cop smoking one time by accident, and he just gave us a dissaproving look. Hope that helps. RoD
