Managed to get hold of the hydro shop. They`ve been waiting for the ballast, they thought they had emailed me to let me know. Stoned bastards.

I should get my grubby mits on everything by the weekend. Hurrah!

pffeeeww....i ve had a similar situation happen to me (shipping my car overseas) but i wasnt so lucky. The bastard took my money (1300$ 15 yrs ago) and send my car to a totally different country. Make a long story short, we had to go and pick the car in another country, pay various parking/customs charges plus the 1300$ on top of things cause the bastard hadnt paid the shipping company. He took the money (from em and various other people) and left.

Hopes he got his karma back

sorry for changing the subject. But as soon as i heard the "they arent answering phones, etc" a little bell rung in my mind...

Glad u re getting your gear FG

I wasn`t too worried as it could have been claimed back through the card. This would have meant more hassle, reordering somewhere else and more waiting though.

I do think karma plays it`s part in our lives, rip off artists seldom come to a happy end. Let`s hope so anyway.

KC Brains Nortther Lights Special. KC says it`s an Indica/Sativa. It`s definitely Indica dominant although there seems to be variation.

Those plants have been heavily trained to get a good canopy.

Smoking

OK I am now smoking some of this weed. The buds are fluffy as hell (pics to follow) but it`s a nice draw. Pretty subtle, very smooth and velvety. Fairly pokey but not mental. Not really what I was expecting, the NL is there but there`s plenty of whatever sativa KC crossed it with there too.

We`ll see what the 2nd gen turns out like, should be a lot more pokey if I`ve done things right.

well, it looks more like a sativa than NL. Who knows what KC crossed the NL with.

Smile Got the new light set up

Got the new light and all set up.

Here`s the girls loving it.

And here`s one of the girls. IDK why but plants photographed with flash always look like they`ve been caught in the act of something nefarious. Or maybe that`s just me.

The Lumatek ballast seems fine so far, runs really cool, looks well made.
The Cooltube reflector wasn`t wired up right when it came, the wires to the bulb holder were just flapping around. You think they`d check this shit before they send it out the factory. Once wired up it works well though, heat extraction is excellent and it gives a nice even spread of light for SOG (unlike my old light).

oh yeah i see em now!

Nice. High tech stuff. Now u can put it like 4"-5" away (dont quote me on this one....dont want to be responsible for your lovely ladies).

Looks good mate. Healthy jungle u got there. How many days are they in 12/12?

edit: cant figure out how your room is set up. I see the inline and the CF on top and dutcing going to the right. and the cool tube gets ducting from the left. U got the cool tube on a separate cooling fan right?

I`ll have to experiment to see how close, atm I`m pleased I`ve got everything working

The three eldest are about 38 days into flower so they`re quite long...

Set up like this

aha! Nice and simple set up.

I thought it would be more complicated to hook up a cooltube (for some reason i had the idea that u need a separate fan for it).

So everything is ticking along atm.

I`ve potted up most of the clones I rooted in rockwool. It`s definitely easier than soil, more success and it`s less hassle than pissing around with compost & stuff.

I should be able to select the keeper soon, I`ll put some pics up and ask advice. Is there any way of doing a pole in the middle of a thread?

Notes: I realise now that I would have saved time by vegging until preflowering, taking clones, flowering the parets to select a pheno, discarding crap clones and then I`m in SOG heaven. It`s a laborious process but I think it`s the shortest one. I`ll be at the same place in about 2-3 weeks- one generation of clones later! Comments?

Smoking KC`s Northern Lights Special it seems a little battering- the madman if you know what I mean.. I think I`ll finish later this time, that should help. Once I`ve got something else on the go I think I`ll pull the plug on the KC`s. I`ve still got 5 beans left in any case.

The plant cant give you its max if it reaches it pick at veg phase.
If u can do that yo are a magician.!.
Say we(u and me) start planting a the same time in same conditions!
U (with your plan )will quiken flowering/harvest time about 2-3 weeks soonr.
Thats true!
But in the same conditions in the time we said before,I will have twice the yield you have...
Try both ways and give us your opinion.
I didn`t quite understand this post at the time . Manolo you were right.
