I quit smoking...A New Year's resolution kept!

I was going to post this first but the incident with my friend (it's all in the "Jacked?" thread) sidetracked me.

Anyway, back in college (12 years ago) I smoked for two and a half years and was up to a pack every other day. I quit for a variety of reasons and I didn't miss the smokes over the years...

That is until I started my current stressful job and I was hooked back on the death-sticks.

So six months later I'm looking at the new year approaching an realizing I'm up to 4-6 smokes a day and that amount is growing. It was so easy to start up again it was almost scary.

I also have started dating a very hot co-worker (ok completely different departments and we never really see each other during the day so that 'don't date co-workers' rule is out the window). This woman is amazing in mind and body and her only hangup on me is the smokes (the tobacco smokes...she is 420 friendly but doesn't partake herself anymore).

I also started my running and exercising and found I'm beginning to loose my wind sooner than before. I can't run as far or do as many reps as I could just three months ago but nothing in my routine has changed...besides my smoking.

So I decided to go cold turkey and I am happy to report that despite a week and 1/2 of wanting to kill anything that annoyed me in the slightest, I haven't had a smoke since Jan 1 and have no cravings for the "Tombers" anymore even when someone is smoking around me.

Here is to my continued adherence to this resolution!

Tombers.

Good for you. I quit smoking cigs many years ago, and it took several attempts and alot of effort to get through it. That you have held on for a month so far is great. Good for you!

Just say "No!" to legal drugs (they're the most likely to kill you).
