so i went from smoking about an 8th of dro a day (all bongs n pipes) to being completely sober for four months. it sucks. i never really got into otger drugs just loved to get high. i never in my life thought id quit but now i have a 3 month old son. you would literally think after a qtr of a year id be ok but i want to smoke more than ever, and even tho i have it shoved in my face i still havent. i really am just venting more than anything. im thinking getting for christmas could be awesome.

I've had a child for just about 3 years now and I still smoke herb. Never around my kid obviously, but there's no reason you can't smoke weed and be a good dad at the same time.

Well, unless you're just wired differently which is totally possible.

I've had a son for nearly 28 years and he still isn't sure if I smoke weed or not .

But then again he doesn't smoke anything, drinks occassionally, and probably doesn't care one way or another if I do or not.

I will say however while he was in college ( and home for the holidays) we had a brief discussion regarding cannabis use. I was blown away by how much disinformation they teach at Penn State about cannbis.

what is she likely to do if you start smoking again?
I mean it's pretty obvious that as a new parent you shouldn't be smoking like before. But if you made the same 1/8th last a week or ten days then that shouldn't be too bad.

having kids changes your life and if it doesn't then something is wrong, but life isn't about punishing yourself.

she already said she wouldnt mind but at the same time id rather just keep my word. i think all the heat im getting on here has more to do with all the potheads who couldnt fathom not smoking for longer than a day than me keeping my word

not the issue, any promise given to a woman you are having sex with is considered to be 'under duress' and therefor not valid.
If you are HAPPIER not smoking then stay clean. If it's making you an UNHAPPIER person not smoking then you should reconsider your promise. (its not such a biggie, being a good husband father provider are more important than any promises made or broken).

I quit for 3yrs (no kids). Then I've quit 2 yrs for probation. Now I quit every couple weeks.
