Whey hey the Moto GP season starts soon. I think it`s gonna be great this year, especially with the 2 new riders who`ve come up from 250`s. And James Toseland has been testing really well. Is anyone else a bikeracing fan?

I am a fan. More of a Rossi fan. And who are those two upcoming 250 guys? I can only think of one guy -- Lorenzo (ive been watching him since his 125 days with Derbi in 2000 or so).

Im guessing itd be a hot race with Pedrosa, Rossi, Stoner, and -MAYBE- Lorenzo. But it also depends on how the new 800 cc motors will work out, too.

Actually there`s three (when I check out the website), De Angelis, Dovizioso and Lorenzo. I think they might adapt to traction control better than some of the more experienced riders. Capirossi seemed to struggle compared to Stoner on the Duke last year. Allthough I agree with Rossi that traction control takes some of the skill out of it, seen as it`s being fitted to some production bikes nowadays I think it woul be a bit silly to ban it from racing.

OMG this is one bad crash

Apparently Lorenzo may race anyway in China anyway even with injuries. It would be a shame if he didn`t with Rossi, Stoner and Pedrosa having putting in the best practise times so far it looks like being very competetive, these four riders being at the top of the points standings so far.
Rossi is making confident noises about this race. Stoner is also looking good. These two and Pedrosa are all previous winners here. I can`t wait!

I don't think i have ever seen a moto gp event on tv so i never really got into it

wow, what an ignorant thing to say ^^^. why talk shit about something you obviously don't know shit about? hey bud in case you didn't know, MotoGP is one of the most popular sports on the planet. I don't know exact statistics but i'm pretty sure it's almost as big as soccer, and its a GLOBALLY popular sport. Just like soccer it is very popular all over the world, EXCEPT in America. Valentino Rossi is one of the highest paid athletes on earth, last year I believe he beat out AROD and cleared around 30 mill.

Yeah touring cars pawns F1 any day, they overtake each other and make contact, F1 has become such a procession nowadays.

Toastyroach- you do have the most insane track of them all (with the exception of the Isle of Man and the original Nurburgring- but they`re just ridiculous!) in the U.S.- Laguna Seca. It was redesigned especially for bike racing in 1988. I won`t dis Indycars - they`re more enertaining than F1- but I don`t understand why more Yanks aren`t fanatical about Laguna Seca- it`s truly radical.

It's about an hour drive away from me, I use to go watch car races there all the time since my dad's friend use to race an old Ferrari. The craziest race i ever saw there was a miata class race though, there was so many crashes it was unbelievable.


I like the track though, i would just sit at the bottom of turn 8 i think it was (whatever one was a big ass corkscrew) and just wait for cars to crash

Crash corners are good but always remember to stand on the inside of the corner.

Slunt- just out of interest, do the superbikes manage to keep up with the dragsters? Sounds wicked having a beer garden in between the two tracks- mellow way to spend an afternoon.

Hehe- after all my build up the Shanghai GP was a bit tame really.

all the MotoGP races are on Speed channel, usually on sundays like every other week. i just love watching them because I sit there with my jaw on the floor in utter amazement, it never gets old amazing their skills are... they are pushing those bikes and their bodies to the complete limit, fully leaned over, full throttle, full brake... amazing what they can do

Laguna is sick, and this year they are going to race at Indy. I wonder If I can still get tickets lol.. this would be mine and a lot of peoples first chances to see a MotoGP race

oh and ISLE of man is one the craziest fn courses... those guys are fucking insane for riding there. Imagine if they had a MotoGP race there??

They used to hold a leg of the 500cc GP`s there until the 70`s but Giacomo Agostini led a rider boycott for safety reasons and it was pulled from the series. Shame- although you can`t really blame them- people were killed regularly. In the TT they`re riding against the clock (they start at 10 second intervals) which makes it a bit safer although it`s not infrequent for people to die whilst competing. For some reason the Irish tend to do very well in the TT!

Mostly it`s amateurs that snuff it on "Mad Sunday" when anyone can ride their bike round the circuit- kind of like the running of the bulls in Pamplona.

they start racing on mini bikes when they are 4 years old. fuckin sick. /jealous. this is what mini bikes were made for, for little kids to race on, not grown men riding on the street LOL
