nice vintage bike dude. Looks good.
Kinda pricy though... i think in San Fran (with all the uphill/downhill roads) u need some gears looks cool though we used to built ramps in teh 80's and jump with such bikes.....not advisable

thanks mang -- eh, $340s not bad for a good used bike with mostly everything you need for it - my girlie gave me some of her stuff, handlebar tape, brake equiptment, etc, so thats a bonus too. gears can definitely be useful, but one can go different routes that dont have many hills, etc. |

damn man, riding fixed is dope! i set it up last night - changed handlebars, added tape, put a brake on the front wheel.. it was a lot of fun riding it...i didnt find it very hard to not coast, and braking really wasnt hard... -- its nice to have a front brake. -- i rode last night without strapping my feet in, which is pretty stupid, but ill get used to it. - at one point i went down a hill and it went out of control a little bit, but i managed alright. i just need to practice. but im going to leave it fixed for the foreseeable future, so much fun to ride

congrats ssd! damn that is a huge frame bro, but it looks really nice & clean as a fixie. props on the handlebar choice & white tape, definitely gives her a nice look.
i don't really personally agree with all the hype about simplicity/truth/yaddayadda but they're totally beautiful machines and a unique experience to ride. sf seems like it must have a really big hub of cycling activity, it is constantly labeled as one of the country's most friendly cities.. consider me jealous even though i come from a mega-friendly community as well. check these cats out.. they're based right there and you maybe you even have some friends who know em cause they're a pretty chill streetwise crew. * MASHSF * this is from a little trip they took to austin .. pretty fun vid with mr pharmstrong. enjoy the ride dude!

be safe out there - just got in an accident the other night.
i was riding behind a jeep cherokee, when the driver started to pull to the right like she was going into a driveway or parallel parking. as soon as i started to pass her on the left, she turned to the left, trying to make an illegal u-turn across a double yellow. of course she didn't see me in time, so i ended up in her front wheel-well. the wheel is all jacked up, and i'm a little scraped up and sore. just remember that the bike will always lose, so ride safe! |

When ever I ride I imagine that every car is driven by a blind idiot. I don't ever trust the drive to stop when they should. So far I never been in a bad crash with a car. *knocks on wood* Gotten tapped a few times. I want to try a fix gear now.
Spanky I got the same bike. Mines a few years old. I love it |

nice bike but expensive for oldness.
i had a sweet bike a few years a few years ago but shit got stolen (500$ fuji 2000-2005), broke my heart because i relied on it almost every day, but i manage on a much worse bike. to this day im still looking for the nig who pilfered it as far as gears go, i dont have a single speed but i do have a piece of junk bike and i barely ever switch gears. when you are an experienced rider you are no longer physically challenged by riding. but you would need low and high gears if you were going up and down mountains but for round town riding thats not neccesary
