word - im 6'4 or '5 and my bike is 63 cm, and i still need to raise the seat another inch or too, its probably already 5-6 inches from the frame -- i found it on craigslist by searching "61 cm" or whatever size yer looking for, its a decent way to find bikes...but ive heard from others as well that its hard to find big ass frames like that. -- word, i bet b-mo has some good bike co-ops, and check craigslist too. -- thanks man

I used to ride a 21 speed trek all the time in the non-winter seasons. If I lived in a city like SF I would start up again to get around, but I only did it for recreation. Walking and rollerblading are much better forms of exercise. Rollerblading takes balance and skill that so few people have. I am among the few who has gotten up to 22 mph on rollerblades while going down a 1/3 mile incline on the side of a highway with no way of stopping once you progress. I have a lot of love for people who ride bikes.

NO!!! What did you do with the handle bars?!???? Dude, I'll put those on my 27 speed.
I missed you're old bike. I'm thinking I'm going to get a ss for school next year. I love watching people at stop lights that can stand still on their single speeds.

I suggest going to a few bike stores before buying one. You can learn a lot from just talking to different stores and asking for suggestions. This summer I was in my bike shop getting accessories or maintenance every week. I bet they hated me.

why don't you cut your own?for me, the "spiritual" aspect of riding comes when i'm in the middle of the woods dropping all the way down to gear 1 to make that climb, not walking my bike up a hill to ride down with no helmet at a ridiculous cadence. respect though. has no one else here ever felt the kush of a fully? just saw that you added a freewheel. ss is efficiency.

![]() I just picked up a 2008 Trek XO1 (picture is a 2009, but basically the same. Trek Bikes | Bikes | Road | XO 1 I bought the bike because I race cyclocross in the fall/winter. I threw on some road tires, a 12-25 Dur-Ace cassette to replace the 12-27 105 cassette, and a 53 tooth 105 crank ring so I can use the bike for road racing. Soon I'll be getting all my official university gear from Hincapie Sports wear, which is sweat because its pro gear for cheap as shit. Cost me around 120 bucks a kit. Bought some bib knickers and a polar windtex jacket for the cold for damn cheap aswell. |

what kind of handlebars do you guys think i should get? like i mentioned before, im not too keen on the ones i have now...the old drop down owns i had were the shit, but not very functional for a freewheel (i hate the brakes inside the drop down handle bars, i forget what theyre called - theyd be better for a fixed with no brakes or one brake)
