Nice man. Those frames can get mad expensive too.
I just got back from a ride... I was only able to do a mile and a half cause the soles of my feet started killing me. They still hurt now actually. My legs were fine and I wasn't tired at all. I wanted to do another 3.5 at least. But I was in so much pain I had to stop... what's up with that?

yo Bearsy, was it the arches of your feet where the pain originated?
I bet I know just the problemyou mean... I always got it terrible & still sometimes do. For me, it was related to my flat feet. I finally got a pair of custom orthotics and it almost completely relieved the pain. The final solution was getting the right pair of shoes that provided good arch support on their own. before I fixed it.. I used to just ride through the pain for an hour or so, and then the arches would basically be numb and i'd be alright. but I know that there were plenty of nights I had a hard time making it through that first hour cause the throbbing is pretty legit & hard not to focus on. definitely talk to your doctor about orthotics.. your feet will feel better after just any long day of walking as well. good luck dude.

and really, tubular wheels are better(hate or love relationship), they are more reliable if you pay for quality. they won't make you eat shit if they blow out on a turn, and they can be ridden on a flat in an emergency. not for long on CF, but they are good track wheels. I just like them. Last edited by SpankyMcLankey; 03-20-2009 at 04:03 PM. |

no one said anything about tubular wheels/tires did they? I just hoped you were aware that the wheel would change how the bike handles, potentially to a great degree while descending & at speed.
if you like them, that's what counts.. it's just seems kind of a funny choice for a knockaround bike. hope someone doesn't yank them quick while you're in the store!

yea for sure, well I'm just going to keep the front if anything. even though the front one is the one in the worst condition. I'm still looking for some one to trade with or something. maybe some deep v clinchers, i dunno.
they are definitely faster acceleration though, haven't noticed anything with corners since I don't push them far enough to notice a difference. the only debate is changing tubular on the spot. some say you can pre-glue, and some swear by tufo. I definitely want to go back to tubulars some day, but these CF rims are too dangerous for my terrain if I was ever training/racing with them. |

Yeah that's why I don't ride my bike to school... it's obviously an expensive-ish bike and there's only one bike rack and the only one ever locked up is a PoS from the 80s.
So my ride would stand out like a sore thumb, beckoning one of the many crackheads that live in downtown Buffalo to gank it while I'm gone. Once I get a cheapish fixie then I'm gonna start riding to school. But that's probably not gonna be til next semester.
