fixed gear means that it has no backpedal brakes right?
if you plan to ride that on the street you are fucking insane and have so much balls that i am surprised you can sit ona bike seat. i got a mountainbike here in norway and i have pretty much finished building it. got a bell in holland and recently added some much needed fenders. got some lights for the front and back, and a big thick bike lock

biking is fun. around my neighborhood it sucks, but i like to drive out to the country to ride. one of my favorite areas is the berkshires in western mass.
so fucking beautiful there, plus the appalaichan (sp?) trail runs through there. but naw, ive never rode a single speed, except when i had my mongoose. i miss that bike.

Beautiful bike btw.
![]() Mine, but with black tape. Oh yeah, and the handle bars are lowered one ring. Hope to get the bars to the bottom of the stem by the end of next season. ![]()

thanks man, im really happy with it. - im not sure on the tire size, i forget. heres a shitty cell phone picture: ![]() Quote:
word -- ill see how it goes, more than likely im going to add a coaster and handle brakes - its cool because once you have the freewheel mechanism, you can just flip the tire and make it fixed gear or not, so im not really stuck with one or the other. -- alot of my friends ride fixed around the city with no brakes or helmets. -- nice man, i bet there are some beautiful spots to ride thurr. |

ive always wanted to try riding one because you can ride backwards if you fancy it i live basically in mountainbikeheaven. i live on the absolute edge of oslo basically out in the forest. the biking/hiking/skiing/whatever trails are so numerous i may not be able to fully explore them all before i leave in july. they are lit up at night until 11pm by massive lights. norwegians like to use lots of electricity.

i dont know if i would want to take do any 'sweet jumps' with it
![]() that was a pretty cool video - ideally, there would be way more bikes on the road than cars, and cars would yield to bikers and pedestrians, instead of the other way around. -- but you didnt answer my question saddam... |

i don't hate fixed gears - just that they're kind of a clique around these parts.
i've always kinda wanted one, too my dork bike: http://www.blackstork.com/wp-content...7/08/nirve.jpg

in amsterdam cars were secondary to bikes in the road-building system. nice bike highways everywhere, public transit and cabs drive in the middle and cars get one tiny ass lane and have to yeild to everyone. it was awesome

renting a dutch bike was one of the most fun things i've ever done. i have never been a part of such a massive faded bicycle gang.
i bet critical mass in amsterdam is a wild party

Riding in amsterdam is sweet so well built for bikes. I never riden a fixie. Single speed is fun. I wish I could ride a bike to school but I got a huge hill between me and school.
