Oh yes sir!
I've got it registered and ready to go. ![]() Can't wait to hit the trails with it! I've just idled it around the block once in 2nd gear(it's a 600 and the fastest bike I've ever been on was a nice 125). I took a motorcycle safety course that was VERY interesting. I loved it too, if anyone rides a bike you should take a class(it helps with being able to check out girls without crashing). ![]() ![]() It's an old Yamaha XT600. I've got it cleaned up a lot better now, I took a wire brush to the exhaust and so that's nice and shiny now, also just all around cleaner.

thanks man.
ha yea, it's a 600 aktually. The seat was just recovered last year(I think it's the original). The exhaust is stock too, and it sounds great as is(specially since I shined it up ). Probably not as good as it could, but good enough for me!It's fucking insane man, it's exactly what I was looking for. |

thanks, it was cheap as hell. 500 off craigslist with about 15k miles and in decent shape, just needs a little tune up and a new front tire and she'll be good to go for awhile. These are generally pretty maintenance free bikes=win!

gahh shits fucked up.
it's died a couple times coming to a stop. Yesterday it was a little rough at 1/3 throttle. I thought it was just the carbs out of tune but today I found the spark plug loose. ![]() So I'm going to replace that while I'm at it and re-tune the carbs and hopefully nothing else happens. It's an OLD BIKE! Older than me!!!! I'm expecting it to feel like a totally new bike once I get a new spark plug and tightened, plus an air filter.

Meh, I've only had it up to 75 the only time I gave it some throttle, or at least that's when I glanced down.
I think it will hit 110 maybe, there's no oil spout for 5th gear though so you can't be as hard on it as the first four. It's supposed to be a good wheelie machine with the twin carburetors though for some reason(there's not many Yamaha XT's around here, it's mostly a European model). ![]() I got a new spark plug today and everything is good now, just my main fuel tank is a little gummed up, so I will have to clean out the fuel tank here sooner or later. It works on reserve though... lol |

Anyways, don't kill yourself doing stupid shit on the highways. So it looks like a dirtbike. Is it just a dirtbike with street tires, mirrors and lights on it?

It's called a dual-sport.
it's a traditional touring bike that goes off road as easily as it goes on road. there's very minor changes from model to model. They all have the big mud flaps, usually always air cooled and they've got a little longer travel of suspension that most on road bikes wouldn't have. Making them hella fun on and off road vehicles! <embed id="VideoPlayback" src="http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?doc id=70417036432732209 31&hl=en&fs=true" style="width:400px;h eight:326px" allowFullScreen="tru e" allowScriptAccess="a lways" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"> </embed> |

If that music wasn't playing I would probably have lost attention. That's pretty cool. That's right, he's just driving along through a river all "yup, that's a river I'm driving through".

dear god some one help me!
I'm trading my bike for this...(89 Zx6) ![]() I realized I don't go off roading enough to make it worth the terrible gas mileage. It's two years newer than my bike, but it's also A LOT EASIER to get parts for(my bike is a european model which makes it nearly impossible to get new parts). This bike has 22k miles, mine has 15,700 but it's also single cylinder. At least I'll have rear disc brakes now. ![]() he offered to give me a zx750 ALSO but it doesn't run. I thought about swapping engines but it's probably not worth it. Last edited by José; 07-30-2009 at 04:02 PM. |

Ship it, I'll take it off of your hands. I've been looking for a cheap enduro so I can put an electronic shift on a dirtbike and see if I want to get back into it. I used to ride a kx125 and haven't ridden since I lost my shifter foot when I was 18. That's a lot more bike than a 125 but I think I could get used to it.

I would but shipping it would probably cost more than the whole bike(it's fucking heavy). It's got a false neutral too, so I don't think an electric shifter would go over well. Sucks about your foot though, that didn't happen FROM dirt biking did it??
I think I might actually keep it after all. I was thinking this doesn't have THAT many miles and I still have places I want to explore. I've seen them in as good of shape as mine with twice as many miles, I'll just have to take good care of it. |
