so i upgraded the engine to 66cc, new carb, new intake, bigger tank, gonna upgrade the lights soon, add brake lights, tuned pipe, and maybe even key ignition. im still doing the breakin for the new engine, but its already faster than the old one, and once i tune it and do the higher compression mod i will be fast as lightning.

haha holy shit man that's awesome. I ride a 700cc motorcycle and even I think that sounds fun as hell. haha Some day, I will have one when gas is $10 a gallon!

I used to have a goped that went about 27-30 mph and it got 200 miles to the gallon.. Those things are incredible.

I'm confident once "we" do realize we are running out of oil, small engines will be a temporary answer. I've always wondered why we don't all just ride around in really nice go-carts and use the gas for what we really need like construction haha. 1) less dangerous 2) less resources and maintenance required, etc..

how fast can you go?

quite a few people around here ride mopeds, it seems like with the right setup you could go faster than any moped since the bike has bigger tires and less weight.

dude you have just inspired me to make one of these. I might do it on my single speed road bike if it's possible. haha

damn I just found a kit on craiglist that's a 60cc, brand new.

good thing I have a motorcycle endorsement, I might just buy this if I can scrape up enough money.

top speed is around 65km/h, but with mods its gets there faster. every little bit helps.

ehh, it's easy to make a functional weld, but it's VERY hard to make a good cosmetic weld. making a good, even weld takes some real fucking talent.

so i was riding around the other day and i noticed a funky smell everytime i stopped... turns out mr crankshaft didnt want to play nice with ms clutch cover; one of the screws that was securing the gear to the crankshaft got loose somehow and was rubbing against the clutch cover, and since this thing spins at like 40 000 rpm the friction started to melt a hole in it... luckily my old engine had the same part that fucked up so i had it fixed right quick.

sawed off the muffler cap and drilled some holes in it, and put that back on the bike, nice and quiet, although it feels a little gimped now. however now i wont attract as much attention as before, which is probably for the best.

on wednesday im going to bug my friend at work to take some pictures and maybe even a little video so i can post it here for you guys.

woooo, had a close call with the po-lice today:

went for a ride to get some beers, on the way back come up on a t intersection with me in the middle. two cars come from each direction so i stop, guy on the right waves me through so i go. here's the part where i start shitting bricks, because behind him was a cop car. might have been a dog barking but my bike is pretty loud and i thought the cop did this "woop-wooop" thing with his siren. anyways i kill the engine, turn a corner, jump the curb and haul ass on the sidewalk w/ the engine off until i reach this plaza (shitting bricks left and right the whole time). i go behind the plaza, hide the bike behind a dumpster and chainsmoke for half an hour. then carefully pedaled home taking a different route.
