why would they fire him at this point in the season? your not going to attract more coaches to buffalo.. and i think shannahan goes to either the redskins or the cowboys next year.. POSSIBLY cleveland, outside shot at houston if kubiak can't get them into the playoffs this year..

i don't know.. if wade doesn't win a playoff game this year, he could very well be done. JJ has done crazier, more rash things before

but with so many other teams in rebuild mode jj is going to wait until the market is saturated with talent rather than compete with half the league for 2 good coaches and 20 something average ones...Dallas' problem isn't coaching, it is overextending their talent and convincing themselves that they are a champion level team when the reality is that they are probably a year away from everything falling into place...

Yeah just replacing the head coach isn't gonna do much, we have to revamp most of our entire team, both management and players... but this is a very good start.

Cowher would be a good pick as well, but I'm pretty sure he's comfortable being on TV every Sunday with the NFL Today krew.

Well hopefull Paul Allen fires Seahawks GM Tim Ruskell and Brings in Holmgren and then he hires Jim Zorn as seahawks head coach. Goodbye Mora and greg knapp. you guys are bums.

^ that would be just about the dumbest thing he could do.. jim mora's a helluva head coach.. zorn's proved he can lose. not much more as a HC.. mora went in and handed green bay their first home playoff loss since they've been playing at lambeau.... zorn hasn' even sniffed the playoffs, and when was the last time that the walrus impersonating a football coach [aka mike holmgren] won a playoff game?

Holmgren beat out the Redskins in 2007, the season before last...Which is irrelevant because the only way he would come back is as GM, making personal decisions, which he excels at...

Zorn is a great qb coach, and a terrible head coach..

Mora is good when the talent is good, but due to the injuries of the last two years, he hasn't gotten to see much development in that realm...

Shanahan recently announced why he turned down Buffalo...

The weather.

That fucking pissed me off to no end.

Everyone rags on us for our weather because of a storm that happened 40+ goddamn years ago.

So let me break it down for you guys:

Buffalo has more days with temperatures over 60F than we do with snow on the ground.
We are sunnier than Orlando, FL. and we're considered the "Sunshine Capital of the Northeast".
We're not even in the 10 coldest, snowiest, or windiest cities in the country either. In fact, Syracuse, NY is the 4th snowiest and they don't get any shit about their weather.
Now, will you smug out-of-towners please aim your climatological condescension at more appropriate targets?
