to train for football, i used to be at the gym for like 3-5 hours a day. the first week or two you're sore as fuck because your body is in shock. same goes for any more intense workout if you haven't been working out or as intense for a while, even if you're not there 3-5hrs and more like 1-2..

3-5 hours a day is a shit ton. I did around 8.5 hours total exercise this week and that was pretty tough I thought.

ya. working out for football, i'd do 3 minutes of cardio between every weight set i'd do or 5 min between each different weight exercise. best way to burn fat, build cardio endurance and solid muscle that will stay. between doing lower and upper body i would go to the basketball courts in the basement of the gym and play ball for an hour or more. then do my upper. then hit the pool for at least half an hour.
i should do it again this summer, haha

I used to go on this 14 mile bike ride everyday, it was in the mountains though so 4 miles of it is just cruising down..
I haven't done it regularly in almost a year now. I'm going to start again though now that I have a new MTB. The longest bike ride I've ever been on at once was 54 miles. It took 4 hours, and yes, it was worth it. There was natural spring water at the end, it was the only reason I didn't turn around 3/4 of the way through. what our school called,"conditioning ," before soccer and football was always the best for me. It was like basic training for 3 days a week. after soccer season, i remember i could practically run non-stop. i wish i was in that good of shape still. it takes so much time though. Or you could work them together because the blood is already in that area.

Then junior year when I started working out again(stopped after freshman year since it was just for a class). Then I was working out with my best friends at the time and they would do as many reps as they could on incline with 175+ and then they would go do as many pull ups they could and keep doing that until they literally couldn't go anymore. They did this 4 days a week, I did it with them once and never again. It's probably the reason why I still don't work out regularly anymore. I still go once and awhile, but c'mon. It's so hard to go after you stop. |

Yeah bro humors not your strong suit
Anyways I've got some friends that are all p90x durdurdur (a lot actually) and it has clearly worked for them! I'll probably borrow the dvd's and see what all the hoopla is about this weekend. Yesterday when I worked out I didn't give myself time between exercises. Some old faggot was hogging the good leg press machine, like litterally I was able to to 3-4 sets on 3 diff machines and finish my workout.... and by the time I was done this asshole was still camping out on the fucking leg press. I would have said something but I figured I'd just hit diff machines and give him some time... But honestly who the fuck sits on one machine for a half hour? Duke was resting there almost lookin like he was crying in between his sets.... it was awkward for everyone in the gym. Next time I'ma tell such a person to take a hike, but this was definitely strange. |
