Who plays sport?
A little over a year ago I stopped playing cricket.
I was playing in 1st Grade, normally opening the batting, I didn't get to bowl much in the last 2 seasons though. 1st grade is nothing flash, we only have 4 divisions/grades out here; not like the 10, or so, in Sydney. I got to have a run today. It's a Sunday: Most games are on a Saturday; I usually have my kids on a Saturday, so I cant play anymore. But today the boys had a Sunday game. So I filled in. It was pretty cool. It was the 2nd day of a 2 dayer; oa game of 2 innings each, over 2 days. Yesterday our lot were bowled out for 102runs, then they finished the day at 7 (out of 10) wickets down for 120. Today the last 3 wickets made 27 so they finished on 147 leading by 45 runs. We had a better crack in the 2nd innings making 169 leading by 124. There was about 30 overs left in the day, so they needed 4 an over. Well poised. They came out to get them quickly, but we took catches and had them 3 down for not many. At the end of the game they were 9 down for 120. Disappointing for us because we just needed 1 more wicket to win, disappointing for them because they were one big hit away themselves. But both teams were happy not to have lost. It was one of my fav days cricket ever, even though I only made 1 run off an edge lol. That's cricket folks. What do you play? |
