Help me find a car!

Budgeting around $20k, need a practical vehicle.

New or used, don't care.

So far Hyundai is the biggest contender, looking into the 2011 Sonata and/or Tuscon. Like the looks, mpg, warranty, and the fact that they have USB ports built-in, as i plug everything into my car when i drive. The engine is a bit weak though, and i don't know how it handles cuz i haven't test drove it yet.

Other contenders are '06 Lexus GS 300, '08 Nissan Murano, and 2011 Kia Optima.

Please, lend me your thoughts and recommendations!

The Sonata is nice but the Genesis is supposed to be on par with Mercedes Benz as far as fit and finish.

You know, when I started repossessing cars, the Hyundai Excel was just beginning to come into the market. What a shit box, I kid you not, you could steal them with a paperclip. But they were cheap, throwaway cars that for their price did exactly what they were designed to do, get you from point A to point B for little money. We thought they would be gone in less than five years, a memory much like Daewoo and Diahatsu (both big sellers elsewhere) because of their poor build.

20 years later and they are building cars that rival European models costing thousands, sometimes tens of thousands more.

Meanwhile in America, if you'd like to buy a truck made by Mexicans from Indian and Chinese parts, we're all over it!!!

That hyundai is freaking nice on the inside! They definitely stepped their game up.

Seriously, if I wanted to I could just throw the next gay guy I come across right up against a wall and give him an anal assault and he wouldn't complain one bit.

From the options presented I'd definitely go with the GS300 unless you want a new car.

The term is repossessor, collection 'agents' are those fools who call you on the phone begging you to pay your unsecured credit debt.

I went out and got shit back.

So far as what I ran, it was an old West Hydraboom. Sling truck, C2500 with about 800,000 miles on it. The truck was always the last resort, my preferred tools were picks, try-out keys and force tools but that was back before you needed an electronics engineering degree to make a key. I got out shortly after all the electronics shit really took off, didn't need to make the $60,000 investment for a new truck and tools.

It's a dead art. Any old wrecker driver can do it now, not to say your dad is any old wrecker driver, he comes from the old school and can recall 7-10 car nights and running out of room to store shit. It aint like that anymore, most young guys I see are barely making enough to keep up the payments on the truck they bought off a repo lot. Banks don't want the cars back, used car lots don't want 'em, new car dealerships are dropping faster tan you can count. It's a buyers market in the used car game right now, unfortunately there are almost zero buyers.

Look around, there's a whole lotta junk on the road now that used to be sitting next to that brand spankin' new SUV in the driveway quietly rusting away...

Lmfao @ anybody can do it now.. Very true.. Correction your a collection agent bc your working for the leinholder (as in the bank of ford motor credit). Your there to collect the car or the the amount the debtor is behind. That's a colection agent Your right its a dying profession with gas prices and the need for outrageous insurances . Gotta get ya a couple large banks or credit unions to make the cheddar.. Not the carlots, check out ford motor credit, mitsubishi motors acceptance cop (mmac), nissan (nmac)or maybe american lenders (as long as ur not in sc ) hopefully that will lead you towards more business mang. Don't need too invest is considering all the chips in keys now since most leinholders only send keycodes to cut door keys not start ignition. Good luck to ya ~1~ hope it works out That is all, not gonna whore out this

The Mitsubishi Lancer might be a better option if you want your car to have a little more balls

Girly yeah but Under 20k and economical.. I didn't think he was looking for speed.. If that's the case 2011 v6 mustang.. 300hp 30mpg but a lill high money wise.

Not usually found in the same sentence as "if you want your car to have a little more balls ".

Out of what Komp suggested in the OP I'd probably lean towards the GS300, but for gods sake buy it through a dealer and get an extended warranty otherwise you're sitting on a potential timebomb.

Stealing one from an impound lot would be badass.
