Do you care about the NBA lockout or basketball in general?

Goddamnit. Until this lockout, I never realized how unpopular basketball really is.

Everybody worships football. All anyone wants to talk about is football. All anyone really understands is football.

When I try to talk basketball to someone (anyone!) it's clear to me that most people (especially white people) seem to feel that basketball is just a bunch of rich niggers jumping around.

I seriously thought the NBA got (nearly) equal respect with the NFL and MLB.

But apparently no one gives a shit about my favorite sport!

Do you know how that feels?

Don't give a shit really. Never connected with it, dunno why. Always loved playing it (thought admittedly it's been quite some time) but never could stand watching the NBA on TV for more than 10 minutes.

I'm gay, and I have never had any interest in league sports whatsoever at any point in my life. I ain't trying to be cool or nothing, I can totally see why people enjoy it. It's just not my thing.

As far as rich 'niggers jumping' around, you could say substitute any racial slur and appropriate verb and have that apply to any major league sport.

I mean isn't football basically an oreo cookie? Couple blacks squashing a white quarterback in between?

No one likes the nba because it is fucking rigged worse than any other professional sport...To the point that it makes games unwatchable...any other form of basketball is great, specially march madness....

i like watching college basketball (ie march madness), but i can only watch so much before i get totally bored. basketball is extremely popular in serbia and european basketball is not so bad as nba

I watched part of a game during the fiba tournament for north and south america and it was much more entertaining than an nba game.

i love basketball and i love the NBA but for some reason i don't get into college ball. i think it's because the players are all roughly the same age. late teens/early 20's. i like to see MEN playing the sport.

When was the last time any underdog won anything of signifance in the NBA...? and don't give me that "the mavs were underdogs" shit because they've been threating for years..... It doesn't fucking happen, there are about 3 teams from either conference that have a snowballs chance, The rest just putz around in mediorcacy, so either there is so little talent in the league, or it is all consaladated to those teams or the shit is rigged, I choose to believe the latter...

I always felt like the most exciting part of a basketball game was the last two minutes.

Really though, I like to watch sports that are on the go. Probably why I like hockey so much and soccer too. To be fair though, I'd rather watch an NHRA event as opposed to NASCAR.

Basketball has too many pauses in play, though I appreciate the great set ups for points when I see them.

Kurtis Blow did write a great wrap about it thouhg.
