I have tried many types of weapons and yet I am not sold on being a gun person, though watching a watermelon burst open from a shotgun is pretty amusing. And yes, I do not hunt but can understand how there can be "thrill" involved in hunting.

I'm not anti-hunt. I responded to something that wasn't relevant to what you're talking about. And where I live, "the hunters" sit in a heated blind with a bait pile in front that most humans wouldn't turn down.

From everything I've shot the .50 cal is by far my favourite. But for having fun I'd take a shotgun any day.

You just have to respect what a gun can do. know what it is capable of and learn the right way to use it and they can be ok.

I'm just bumping this thread to show support for ki11a since I've really enjoyed him showing me his newly acquired pieces over the years!

Cool thread idea, bro!

heres some vids of me shooting the stoeger.

1st is 12 gauge slugs, 2nd is low recoil slugs. was surprised at how much a difference there was between the two.

Definitely my favorite gun to shoot though.

I have shot both a .50 cal machine gun and rifle. Both are extremely fun just for the sheer joy of the destruction they bring.

I was talking about a .50 cal rifle, I've seen an mg but never fired one. the rifle is fucking crazy as fuck. i'm actually pretty lucky I know a few legal gun collectors who have permits for just about every banned weapon in canada, ump45, ak variants, ar variants, hk36, val, mp5, m95, sr50.

we just fire the fun ones out in the country. sometimes at the range but then you have to watch your ass if you're firing auto.

I'm trying to get my acquisition license so i can go hunt with my girlfriend, hopefully I can bring pix to the table soon.

True dat. Most of what I see these days are ambush pussies. Sorry if it fits anybody, but sittin' in a fuck tree stand after feedin' the critter and spyin' on their movements all off-season strikes me as bein' about as sportin' as shootin' the family pet while it's lappin' at their water bowl. Hunting? Hardly.

It's like bein' a gov't employee and formin' a union to elect the boss that promises you a fat raise (sorry ric... sometimes I just can't help myself).

Lotta dough just for ammo, so I gotta ask... WTF does anybody need a .50 for? Huntin' griz that's hunkered down behind a concrete wall... and shootin' back? Yer bud just so flush that he can't figure out what the fuck to spend it on next? Definitely a trip to fire though - especially if somebody else is buyin' the rounds.

Besides, .50's are passe sissy bullshit for vaginas. Real men drag this big bad bitch to the woods (rumor has it Sage used to squirrel hunt sportin' one 'a deez wit' some H.E. rounds... trick was to knock the tree out from under them and have it squash'em dead).

20mm SNIPER RIFLE--AWESOME !

Seriously though, .50's are still awesomeness - hope ya had fun.

Here's our "bow"/gun. Fucked up my shoulder and can't go full draw, so now I gotta hunt like some old crippled douche. Just in case you don't nail your prey to a tree, and don't feel like trailin' em, the M203 (40 mm grenade launcher) designed for the M-16 should slide right on.

Set ours up like this with the Speed Dial (had to dump that silly graphic), and a lizard tongue rest in place of the stock whisker biscuit (even better long range accuracy). Mounted a Leupold Laser Range Finder on a custom mount that puts it 45 degrees off of the scope so at the same eye relief I can get the exact range, dial in the scope, and never lift my check from the stock, so there's no gross movements to give ya away (honestly feels like cheatin', even if I'm "fo' real" huntin'). The Speed Dial lets ya hold dead center on your reticule at any range and be lookin' at where your shot is going to place. No need to fuck with Mil-Dots. Also had carbon fiber double sleeved bolts made to fly custom titanium broad heads (the other "high performance" broad heads were just disintegrating on the first bone that they would hit). The custom bolts are about 15% heavier and knock the velocity down to the high 300's, but it carries more kinetic energy at still absurd kill ranges, and the titaniums are actually good for more than one shot.

Local archery ranges won't let us shoot even if we bring our own targets... the fuckin' fags. On the home range, windless day, stock target bolts, my son shot a 1" group at 120 yards. We don't even fuck with shooting at the same point inside of 60 any more 'cuz the bolts are too expensive to keep William Tellin'. Stupid ass expensive, and more fun than a box of dynamite.

Very cool SxS.

Had a partner that was a real ball buster and a huge Angus bull lookin' fuck, but had never fired a 12 ga. Pulled the plug and loaded my old 870 with a set that would start with three low brass doves loads, then a high brass, then another dove load, and finally a magnum load. I straight armed the first three low brass loads one handed (the dove load recoil is about equal to shooting a .270 rifle factory load), knowing full well that he'd just have to fire it. I'm a pretty big boy, but this fella had arms as big as my legs, so it didn't take much chiding to get him to try his shot like mine. Needless to say, the high brass (more than twice the recoil and about equal to a .300 Ultra Mag) kicked just a wee bit more and smacked him right upside his big cow-like head. Shaken, but no yet broken or bleeding, I relieved him of the weapon, while of course berating his obvious lack of manhood, and proceeded to rack another low brass for another shot - this time off handed. Almost fucked the dog with that one, but held on, so he had to of course try again.

Observing that there was a significant welt and bruising in evidence across the side of his face already, I had to stop him from attempting the one arm again and let him try it from the shoulder, which still surprised the shit out of him. That was the day that Rob learned an important lesson about ballistics, the variety available in shotgun loads, and the hazards of fuckin' with with an imbalanced sociopath. Good times!

Yeah... Wounded Knee was more the "spirit that won the west" wasn't it. Borderline Stone Aged tribes beset by organized military forces using the best technology of death available in their day. The more things change, the more they remain the same eh? The funny part was how close the Indians managed to make it once they got a hold of the lever actions repeaters. Custer found that shit out.

Other than that, wasn't the John Wayne thing a Hollyweird creation. The actor's name was Marion something. He was a shitty husband and father, changed his name to play make pretend and died from Karmic cancer.

Personally, I am more of the mind that R. Lee Ermey is the "real" John Wayne.

Now that's an American role model!

Just waitin' fer the chance to stomp your guts out.

My gun collection (don't I wish). Actually, belonged to another Hollyweird legend, Mo' Heston. This is actually how he and the Israelites really fucked up Egypt... then and now. God really didn't have much to do with it at all... it was alien technology (WTF... sounds just as reasonable to me as the idea of a big prize after a life as a subservient cult serf). Can't find the pic of the vault door, but ya gotta love this shit just for the pure unadulterated excess that it represents. Who doesn't need a MA Deuce in the game room and a flame thrower hangin' in the closet? I hear he had a Bofors gun mounted behind a retractable roof in the pool house.
