bows (and other non firearm weapons)

Anyone know anything about bows?

I just got two compounds from a garage sale

Unsure what to do next. Used to have a recurve as a kid, i was really good with it. Even won couple competitions.

Wat do

I've been wanting to take up archery as a hobby. Used to be really into pistol shooting.

It would have to be used though, like what you did. I was pretty intimidated when I went to price bows and such at a local outdoorsy store.

I used to archery hunt.
I love shooting bow, brother.

What'chu wanna know???

What sort of condition is it in?
Does it have sights?

You could take it a bow/sporting goods shop if you want to make sure it's all screwed together correctly and so on?

These were like 20 bucks a piece and seemed absolutely fine and dandy

Obviously used, not like those crazy new 1000 dollar rigs, but a functional compound bow.

Im coming from recurve land so i was unaware that sights were an option. it has little beads where I assume the arrow is intended to rest on the string.

What's good with arrows? I need some of those.

Yea... sights are pretty sweet... although I don't believe you HAVE to have them... that might be more for quickness for hunting.

As far as arrow length... it's not hard....
But seriously check out a hunting/sporting goods store,
they'll help you figure out how long your pull is, what poundage to set the bow to... and what length of arrow you'll need.

Nothing fancy... just some arrows with a field field points.
Which are just weighted tips for practice....
But you could seriously shoot someone with them...
They are that pointed.
But you don't need any broad heads or anything.

Them giving it a once over would be best for you.
Last thing you want is it coming apart when you have it drawn back.

Maybe with your new bow you'll be playing a little cupid yourself?*

*Don't actually shoot at chicks
