NFL Draft 2013

So the draft is upon us..1st round is done, 2-3 round today and 4-7 saturday morning...

Some footnotes and some links to catch up...

- This year seems to be lacking in big name skill players, it has been named the "fat boy draft" due to the abundance of offensive linemen drafted...

- The Vikings made a big splash by trading back into the first round to get WR Cordelle Patterson, to go with their other two first round picks...

- The Patriots gain a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 7th from the Vikings from the trade mentioned above...Jury is out on whether this is a fleecing or a smart move by a team that wants to win now while All Day is still running tough..

- The Bucs and Seahawks have yet to have a pick due to the Revis and Harvin trades

- NFL.com's coverage CBS's coverage

So how is your team doing, do you like the guys they picked up, have no idea who they are, hate the choice, let it be known here...

I am a 49ers fan and they Traded up to get S Eric Reid, whom seems like a good replacement for the recently departed Dashon Goldson...I like the pick a lot, we needed a hard hitting safety, my only concern is that he has a tendency to get beat deep when faced one on one with premiere WR...

As for the rest of the pics I would like to see them pick up a CB, DE, and maybe a WR, we have a plethora of pics so I wouldn't be surprised to see them be aggressive and trade some of those to move up to get the guys we want...

I didn't know about the viqueens trade since I refuse to watch the draft in prime time. Sounds like a smaller version of the Hershal Walker trade.

Yeah it seems like they got what they wanted/needed in their 3 first round draft picks but they blew their load in a year where there's more value in the later rounds...

Everyone's getting DTs. Tbh I can't get TOO excited about Sly Williams, whom the Broncos drafted. It's hard to tell with any player how good they're going to be in the NFL but with DTs it's even harder imo. Not to mention I never watch college ball and know nothing about most of the draftees. If he can get some inside pressure so Von Miller can get his licks in I will be happy as a clam though.

I meant Sylvester Williams who we just got. He looks kinda lardy even for a DT so I'm worried

Dude above look like he's gonna end up like a black (?) Ryan Leaf.

oh shi my bad, sly williams will be a good addition for you guys I've read that he is alot like Terrance Knighton of the Jags...A strong guy that can keep the middle of the line off balance, he won't be counted on for sacks but can be moved around the line to cause some noise and may draw the occasional double team...He seems like a plug and play guy that will get a good number of reps early and often...

In fairness, they probably won't have any cash left over after paying for 3 first rounders. And I think that will bite them in the ass. Depth wins.

My roommate is a Minnesotan and diehard Vikes fan but tbh I think they will such unless Ponder gets consistent or they abandon him for Cassel. Seems they may have a tough year but who knows, no one said they'd make it anywhere near the playoffs this year, and if they hadn't been forced to go to Joe Webb that game could have been a lot closer.

Bullshit. The Packers could have scored 45 if they kept playing and Ponder wouldn't have come close to producing that many points.

idk man, they beat you mere weeks before and you guys are erratic when it comes to stopping AP. Once the Packers realized Joe Webb was less competent than Tim Tebow all you guys had to do was lock down the run and win handily.

Joe Webb doesn't play defense. The Packers could have scored a shit load of points. They don't lose that game if Ponder plays and I don't think it would have been any closer.
