once upon a time
once upon a time there was a little girl named waywo, who lived in the miki-tiki forest. one day her mother called out to her, "waywo! come quickly!" and waywo ran as fast as she could to her mothers side.
her mother stood beside their little lodge, fanning a small fire with one hand and in the other hand she held a large red flower of the bingle-bongle bush. "your grandmother is very very sick," said waywo's mother, "she has a terrible case of the glargbloff. bring her this bingle-bongle flower to make a tea for her medicine." "yes mother," said waywo, becuz she was a very good little girl. "stay on the path," said waywo's mother, " and dont talk to strangers, and dont fool around." "i wont, mom," said waywo, and with that she took the bingle-bongle flower and was off down the path from the weeping cherry gladness camp through the woods to the willow drinking deeply camp where her grandmother lived. she started off running but she soon got tired, and so she walked a while untill she decided walking was too slow and so she started running again. she felt her mission was so important that she pushed herself to keep running even tho she really really wanted to stop and rest, and it was quite a while before she realized that with all her concentration on running, she had dropped the bingle-bongle flower somewhere along the path without noticing. she ran back to find it a fast as she could, to make up for the lost time of having to go back, but becuz she was running so fast she didnt see it, and when right past, still looking. when she had run nearly all the way back to weeping cherry gladness camp she knew she must have missed it, and turned around again, not running but this time trotting along, looking carefully for the bingle-bongle flower that must lay alongside the path somewhere. when she came around the curve she saw the bright red flower, resting on some moss beside the path. when waywo bent to pick the flower up, a small voice said "eat me." there growing on a rotted log were some purple and red mushrooms, with tiny little faces under their big wide hats. again one of them said, "eat me." "excuse me?" said waywo, "you want me to eat you?" "oh yes," said the mushroom, "eat me quickly!" now waywo had never before seen or heard of this kind of talking mushroom that told you to eat it, so she was very cautious. "what if you are poison?" asked waywo, "then i will die and never deliver this bingle-bongle flower to my sick grandmother!" "if you eat me, you will see why it is pointless to deliver that flower and participate in your grandmothers' illness focused belief system. if you eat me, your mind will be opened to the limitless possibility of compassionate action for the benefit of all sentient beings. if you eat me, i will show you worlds you have never imagined." "in the afterlife?" cried waywo, "no thank you!" and with that she walked away, and tho the little mushroom cried out "wait! come back!" she paid it no mind, having just remembered her mothers warnings: "stay on the path, and dont talk to strangers, and dont fool around." more later unless someone else wants to continue |

man stop beating around the bush and finish the story.
Edit: Its pretty good so far but my writing skills are not yet worthy of such a story like this.

I love it, Veda... awesome! At first, though i thought you were doing a 'red riding hood' parady...lol. It's awesome.... there's sometimes time for talking mushrooms though
But not while on a mission that does not involve talking mushrooms...lol. That sort of reminded me of me... dropping the flower and running back to find it, too fast to find it... I've had so many dreams like that...lol. Good, good story, sis!

thanx!
i did start with riding hood! the four year old is constantly asking me for stories, constantly constantly, its the new thing for her, she cant get enough. shes very uncritical of my stories except that she says they are often too short. so this is just practice to put my head into a narrative place waywo and the mushrooms

Chapter 3
Waywo and the Nibblinger after waywo had escaped certain death by poison mushroom and had walked a pretty good ways, her moccasins began to cry out to her, "waywo, please stop! we are afraid we might catch on fire from all this fast running and quick walking!" so waywo had to stop, and since she had to stop she might as well sit down to rest. waywo sat down under a boo-bah tree and leaned begainst the trunk. all the old people in the village will tell you that it is terrible bad luck to sit down beneath a boo-bah tree and lean begainst the trunk, but waywo didnt believe in that superstition. while she cooled her moccasins she checked on the condition of her flower, and it seemed perfectly good. suddenly there was a voice speaking directly into her ear saying "what kind of flower is that? is it good to eat? i want some! give me some flower, waywo!" it was the nibblinger! a small black forest creature that lived in a hollow log and always wanted to nibble. waywo had to stand up quickly and hold the bingle-bongle flower high over her head so that the nibblinger could not reach it. "no, nibblinger!" she said, "you must not nibble this flower! i am bringing it to my grandmother for her medicine." "but i want it," said the nibblinger, "give it to me, pleeeease!" The Nibblinger

Too cool
I'm reading Clan of the Cave Bear and so every other story that I read takes on the 'essence' of that one .... lol. I like it, keep going. Are you creating these illustrations or finding them? I think you should keep going
