Aaahhhhhh..... This feels like a comfortable place to post some of my poetry. I didn't want to start a new thread because I knew I wouldn't get any replies and I'd of had to throw myself off a BRIDGE. Here, at least I'll just blend in. This poem doesn't mention silence but It's a collection of my thoughts leading up to what I had planned to be silence. Fortunately for me, The damn catalytic converter made my car take to long and cops caught up with me.

This one's called "Pave the Earth"
It’s time to pave the earth for the parking lots we live in
There are more then just two choices Don’t listen to the voices
The window can’t hide anything the door always gives in
I never knew but could have if I’d took the bus and would have
had an everlasting Monday sleeping dreaming in a real way
Dark blue color in the house of smoke the halls are loud with laughter
how did I know and never wonder I stand and wait forever after
The garden likes being planted the soil hates to be dug
As you walk the carpet screams but you only tickle the rug
Under the highest trees they hold the sky light as air we make camp there
To beat the wind you must fly high They rise They rise like a string of beads
A distant glimmer across the field Travel until I lose my sole
Stop for fallen pilgrims always balance never yield
I never knew but could have if I’d took the bus and would have
had an everlasting Monday sleeping dreaming in a real way

Question Silence is never Golden!

Unspoken words...........~

In my mind I can vision an uncertain future –
And a thought came to me…..
As we ponder and tarry - in this toxic place.
Wondering when we sleep; about this futile race…that we are in.

Where did this all begin?
How and when it will all end?

Pray to the “Great Creator,” who’s looking down upon us with such compassion!
We do have Angels who are fighting battles and guiding us.

Our Mother has been exhausted of her wealth and betrayed by the greed of man.
Hell bound at this current rate and dying in our solemn state.
Lacking any consideration or empathy for Mother Earth~

We, The Turtle People have an obligation as set out in “The Great Law”!
To everything that grows, crawls, runs, creeps and flies on this continent!

empty ears bring solitude
improve and renew the amplitude
of inner thought waves that travel through
the brain that often tells me I'm a fool
i just heard a sound, i wake up to
myself half-asleep in a puddle of drool
who knew my thoughts could be so cruel

I excluded all mods.
I'd like this Contest to be voted upon...~

If I could turn this thread into a poll, I would....can't seem to find the button to do so.

Sage are you there?????

I would love to but since I quit smoking I lost my mojo. I can't flow when I'm sober, same thing as dancing. Weed brought out the writer in me.

I can't find anything to add a poll. I remember there used to be a way to add one after. But Alas...let me think some more....

We could Copy and move some posts to a new topic with a poll?

EDIT (10:18) I think it would be best if we just had people quote the list of names here and then bold their choice making it easy to count and not having 17 threads about it.

Thoughts?

a lot of forums can enable voting on posts, so that you vote on any one or more posts in the thread and the results come up as a bar graph or you can put the posts in the order from most votes to least. The problem with the latter method is that early entries are favoured as they'll be sure to get more votes since they're the first ones people read. where is RE? he still alive?

Just let me know what you are thinking PG, I wouldn't mind mailing a book or something of about that size.

So let the Contest Continue........~

To pray you open your whole self
To father sky, to mother earth, to grandfather sun, to grandmother moon
To one whole voice that is yours
And know there is more....much more

That you can't see, can't hear, can't touch
Can't know until the time is right........
Steadly growing and in languages unknown
That aren't always sound but rather a beat
Circles of motion.....circle of life~

I've come to the conclusion that I don't like the idea of a poetry contest, because that turns what should be a beautiful and honest work of art into a form of competition.

while I love competition I don't think it should apply to poetry.

You're just scared to get your ass whooped by some poems!

Roses are heady,
Willie is too,
Your poems are the bomb
So let's drop a few.

no honestly I'm honored that pharm girl even had me third out out five. but I feel shitty for whoever is on the bottom of the totem pole.

I'm just being lame though. I suppose most everything in life turns about to be a competition anyhow.
