Mydriasis

She says,
"What are you doing?"

I'm sitting down,
by the rail-road tracks,
waiting for the next train,
to come and take me away.

She says,
"Why don't you just come home?"

Because I know this town.
Tired of dodging the same side-walk cracks.
Theres nothing here for me to gain.
I have nothing else to say.

"is this really good-bye?",
she put on her night gown.
Loaded her things into carry-on packs,
and stepped into a carpet stain.
There's never a reason to stay.

Like an angel wounded from battle,

cuz I've never met her.
when shes passing me right on by,

The obstacle in the chase,

Mydriasis

The problem with infinity,
is the numbers go off into letters.

Since our birth,
the moon has made,
helixes around the earth.

from letters,
to verbs and nouns,
to oceans to sounds,
to paintings to clouds,

Since our Earth,
our DNA has made,
helixes around the birth.

from them,
to him and her,
to me a writer,
to you a reader.

The problem with infinity,
is the understanding never betters.
