Cosmic Weed Bore!

My mate´s not a pothead, he´s never ever taken more than a toke
But he´s alright, a good lad, quite an interesting chap, a top bloke
And he told me that outside of the pothead community, the straights
Seem to fink that us potheads are all bores, breaking boring laws
Yabbering on about sweet sticky hairy spikey-leafed plants grown indoors
With nothing else to talk about but the shit, weed, Old Bill and bongs
I suppose he´s quite right, there are some weed bores, he´s not wrong
Some potheads have small horizons and can only converse about pot
Pot is top, Afghanny, Leb, pollen, skunk, bud, and knives that are hot
Weed is best, its great medicine, stoned meditation, mashed n turnip´d!
Skin up! Let´s score! Good shit! Stoned again! If it smells good burn it!
Of course potheads can chat about other subjects and different themes
Languages, art, music, books, prose, science, religion and wacky dreams
Inventions, sport, bizarre ideas, our families, beliefs, botany, flora n fauna
Hobbies, artesania , history, films, politics, etymology, and poetry corner
He who smokes pot should be able to be articulate and able to sprout verse
To parley about many splendored and varied issues and not just curse
So I implore do not be a weed bore, find common ground and have a babble
Not just about weed, but your other interests, scrabble or about exotic travel
The world is full of interesting mind boggling mysteries, enigmas and puzzles
Why are we here? What´s da meaning? A spliff illuminates da mind wiv sizzles!
Hemp should mek life more interesting, mek u babble about things wiv giggles!

I've been a stoner for more than half my life now, but I'm so much more than just a "pothead". I'm a church-going, professional, double-degreed female who just happens to like to spend more time high than not. Being high makes everything better. It makes the unbearable bearable, and the fantastic even more fantastic.

i am really pleased about your comment. like you i have been a stoner for nearly half my life. i am doing a degree at the mo (spanish with translation studies). i think it´s importatnt to have many interests and hobbies, and pot is the glue that sticks them all, its good to study stoned, good to learn languages mashhed, good to get creative with your hands whilst intoxicated or write a poem. it´s good to be a stoner but important to have different views and thoughts. many people don´t respect the weed and misuse it, it should be treated with respect, reverance and ritual, and smoked in contemplation and as a medicine. take care MellowLady and smoke in peace!
